Simple and short: create a community challenge to improve the number of players available on TM.
In a more detailed way: this challenge would be something like "reach X transfers in D days" or "reach $M in transfers in D days". If the RZA community reach the goal all teams receive a prize (credits? money? a random high-skilled player?). This challenge may have different levels with different prizes being unlocked. I think it would be great if this challenge happens after the rollover but it would also be helpful on the last 2 weeks of the season (when most managers do not have too much to do on RZA). Just an idea. |

I don't care for our transfer market at all. I think you should let the managers decide what a players sells for. As it is now, it's almost impossible to unload or sell a highly skilled and advanced player. Just not enough action in the market. If you let the managers decide, within a certain framework, then more players would be bought and sold, making the game better. If a player that's 30yo that's selling for a million, and no-one is bidding, then a manager should be able to reduce the price, somewhat. Conversely, a player that's selling for $5000, yet is loaded to the hilt with great physicals, intelligence, teamwork and traits...no manager is going to want to sell a player like that on the off chance someone buys him for a ridiculously low amount. That manager should be able to raise the price somewhere. Just my two cents..

It's not the 1 million opening bid that prevents most of us from buying 30 year old players. They are basically a one-season player, so unless you have a big hole to fill, there's not a whole lot of motivation to bring in a guy for one season. Plus, if they are max'ed, out, the salary is way more of a deterrent than the million dollar fee. And finally, a lot of the 30 year olds on the market have other flaws like way too little EXP or physicals that just don't warrant the salary.

But a lower transfer price would perhaps compensate for the higher salary in some calculations. And with a lower transfer price, you might be more willing to buy a player for one season. And it's not even just about players who are 30... players aged 26 and over are also more difficult to sell if the transfer fee is too high for what the player brings to the table! It would be an advantage if a player who was not sold could be offered at a lower price on the transfer market next time if the manager wanted to. |

No disrespect intended here, but two observations here. One, this is not the OP's idea. Having more control over the bidding process is an entrely different suggestion.
Two, most offerings on the TM are just not that attractive. At any price. The prices on the TM are not stopping me from getting my guy, it is just that my guy is generally not out there for sale. This is just economics at play. I think the only solution is to draw in more managers, and this is highly unlikely. I came late to the bulletin board games too. I had quite the intergalatic force back in the day, but there was no one to fight! My timing sucks. |

Is this really worth the time being involved with such a development? I believe, it would not draw so much attention, to be honest - also based on the feedback in this discussion so far.
