And congrats to the Ukies, who are the winner in the NC West today. They are the only team to have won their game, climbing back to the #1-spot in the division

Thanks, that was a huge win for us. Both teams had not much to show in terms of offense, but our 2 takeaways proved deciding.

This is truly a cut-throat division. While Dragons might not be winning the league, fight to avoid relegation is fierce.

We are almost the same with pass D.

And I don't get it also and I probably never will 🫣

With five games left, the AC is pretty interesting. The division winners are pretty much decided, but you have 7 teams that are 6-5 or 5-6 (and two 4-7) teams vying for the two wild cards.

It’s Game Day 13 today, and the tension in the NC West is almost to much to bear. Every game counts for every team, and every win or loss will be crucial to the chances of making it for another season in the Elite.

The HAMBURG SEA LIONS still have 4 divisional match-ups to play, so the chances are still quite good if we’re able to win those. The first one comes today with a visit at the Chelt Nam Bobbers. They are struggling mightily and are experiencing a 6 game losing streak, which has never happened to them before in their long tenure in this league (the most consecutive losses up to this point were 5, way back in S35). They need to win badly to keep hopes alive. As do the SEA LIONS. This one, which was for the division win in past seasons, is equally as important as it was before, but for all different reasons

The Pizti Beltzak visit the TigerCats in the AC North, in another match-up involving the Beasts where both teams have the same record. The NC West team had a very good game on Tuesday and lost against the Space Kraken only by a TD, which shows their strenght and strategic cleverness. Both teams have to win to stay above the line, as they both have teams with the same records breathing down their necks right behind them in the division.

The NC West leading Brookfield Ukies visit the Glasgow Tigers in the NC East. The Tigers are the worst team in a tough division and still have 4 wins to show, which are only 2 less than the #1 team from the West has. Both teams played close games on Tuesday, with the Brookies winning by 4 while the Tigers lost by 2. Maybe this one will be close, too. Anything else than a win by the Ukies would surprise, though, and it would move the tension-meter even further into the red range.

Good luck to everyone today

This division is absolutely crazy, as even at this point of the season EVERY team can still win it. Sure, for some a lot has to go the right way, but technically even the team at #4 can end up winning the regular season and proceed to the playoffs. With that said we have one final look at the S59

Battle for the NC West – 4 games to go

Brookfield Ukies (7–5)

The Brookies have the clearest path to the postseason: win both games against the HAMBURG SEA LIONS. Still having the sure win against the bot-Mustangs from the AC North upcoming this would get them to 10 wins and for sure winning the division. Even 9 wins should be enough, as the teams behind them will steal valuable wins from each other. Should they lose both games against the SEA LIONS, though, another loss against the Mandos would have them at 8 wins and they would strongly have to rely themselves on the teams behind them stealing valuable wins from each other.

Remaining schedule: vs. HAMBURG SEA LIONS, vs. KMN Mandalorians, @ Mustangs, @ HAMBURG SEA LIONS

Pizti Beltzak (5–7)

The Black Beast might have the toughest schedule to close out the regular season of all teams in the NC West: two match-ups with division opponents, but first a visit by the Stone Mountain Hawks 2 from the NC East and at the Willoughby Wookies in the AC North. Both teams are significantly better than the Pizti… at least „on paper“. This recent crushing 3:41 at the TigerCats was surprising, as they had made the impression as if they were quite strong in previous games. Their path to the #1 spot in the division is through winning every remaining game. But since they have to rely on the Brookies, as they do not play them any more, even 9 wins might not do it. But it will probably get them to #2 and another season in this fine division. Still having 2 divisional match-ups coming up, though, so they have to be careful.

Remaining schedule: vs. Stone Mountain Hawks 2, @ Willoughby Wookies, @ HAMBURG SEA LIONS, vs. Chelt Nam Bobbers

HAMBURG SEA LIONS (5–7)

The HAMBURG SEA LIONS, too, have a clear path to another season in the elite league: win both games against the Brookfield Ukies and the home game against Pizti Beltzak. There’s still 3 divisional match-ups coming up, and after the loss to the Chelt Nam Bobbers these are more valuable to the SEA LIONS than ever before. We do profit from the schedule making for the #1 from last season… but we still have to win those to make it count. So it’s a shame that especially with the Ukies we did not have that much luck in the past, being 2–3 in all significant match-ups to date. The SEA LIONS need to at least win 3 more games to be back next season for sure, and because one of them would be against the Brookfield Ukies their chances would even be to win the division. Maybe 2 wins will be enough to stay, but relying on that would be a dangerous gamble because of the Baddest Dragon of them all. After 3 consecutive losses the SEA LIONS should get it going again soon, or they will be returning to the Dragons league after the season.

Remaining schedule: @ Brookfield Ukies, @ Glasgow Tigers, vs. Pitzi Beltzak, vs. Brookfield Ukies

Chelt Nam Bobbers (4–8)

The Biggest Dragon of all may have the toughest achievement to make in the NC West to stay in the Elite league or even to win it, if everything with the other teams in the division go their way. But they also have the seemingly easiest out on the remaining schedule of all the teams in the division as well: they face the worst teams in every NC division coming up, except the divisional match-up with the Pizti Beltjak. If they can make their win against the SEA LIONS a trend in the next games they have a pretty good chance to benefit from the other teams in the division stealing wins from each other. If they can’t, though… then this one might be the season that the Chelt Nam Bobbers go back to the Dragons League.

Remaining schedule: @ Suchdol Minors, vs. Rockford River Rats, vs. Glasgow Tigers, @ Pizti Beltzak

It is wild in the West

One thing’s for sure: Any team that’s moving on to the postseason will have a tough opponent, currently probably a team from the East or North. But the winner of this very division certainly is already in playoff mode and will be a tough out for everyone who has to play him.

It's Game Day 14, and these are the games for the NC West teams:

The HAMBURG SEA LIONS have their first meeting with the division leading Brookfield Ukies today. The importance of this match-up cannot be understated. The SEA LIONS need a win badly to come out of their second losing streak of a season, if they want to have any hopes to stay in the league for another season. The Brookies don't NEED the win today, but it would extend their lead on the SEA LIONS to 3 and likely take the latter out of consideration for the division win this season. Depending on the outcome of the game played by the Black Beasts this could already be decisive on who wins the NC West this season.

The Pizti Beltzak welcome the Stone Mountain Hawks 2 from the NC East to Zulo Beltza Stadium, and as mentioned in the previous posting they better win this one to keep good chances on another season in the Elite. If they win and the SEA LIONS lose they stay at #2 in the division with a game in front of the latter, which will be crucial as they still play each other coming up. Should they lose they might stay in front of the SEA LIONS thanks to PD... but still drop to #3 if the Biggest Dragon wins.

The Chelt Nam Bobbers could be the big winner after today, if they win their game at the Suchdol Minors. Assuming that the Pizti and the SEA LIONS both lose today the Bobbers will jump them both in one fell swoop, thanks to (again) being the only team in the divsion with a positive PD. They can (and probably will) take advantage of the strangeness in this division, and might even run the table for the remainder of the season to wind up being a comfortable 2nd when it's all said and done. A loss would be tough, though...

Geez... we really need to win today

Good luck to everyone

Agree, what a big game. My win effectively wins me a division and probably relegates you, your win leaves this league in uncertainty till the last game.

Last time we were in the Elite, despite 8-8 record, 2 losses to you kicked me out. This memory makes me nervous

I guess that won't happen again this season. Partially because I'm not able to put too much time into the game right now to properly prepare for our match-up. That's a bit annoying, but I try to get past this because I realized that these things have a way to strong impact on my overall mood, especially losing after putting a lot of time into preparation of a game. So I avoid that now. In fact I already made peace with the idea to go back to the Dragons league and see what happens then

Congrats, nextsheva

And now we're indeed last in the division. We'd have to win out to have a chance, but even then we probably won't get past the Bobbers. I guess we can start selling some players to make room for the rebuild...

Will Bobbers leave Elite after 32 straight seasons?

For me that is question No 1.

And couple of weeks later Bobbers are out of relegation zone.

Or at least at the egde of it.

What a team, what a manager 👏👏👏
