First round got me a DB with good speed and likely OK strength. 2 Traits will give him a good bonus. in your experience, Fearsome is a useful trait in a Safety? Can be, if the SF is blitzing. |

I am also quite happy with my 1-st rounder. DE with 50 str, very good spe, max tal, ok int, 2 traits - despite age (=22 after draft), very poor exp and lower tw (=37) than what I like linemen to have.
Was my #1 pick (I hesitated between that DL and Frankebasta's QB, but I like high str for my QB's more than Jack6, so finally I chose the "guaranteed" over the "likely"). Last edited on 2025-01-08 14:44:55 by jpnwrt |

My expirience on drafted players is, you can not rely on them being uncapped or warned to be capped in 4 to 5 values to gain.
It is a total lottery. The only thing which is very likely is, that a value under 40 is not capped. But that means, if you have a guy with 39 and you have im now on the roster and it shows yellow, he will cap at 40 to 44. Of course it can also happen he has no yellow sign at all and he will cap later. Just red capped is very unlikely. Can't remember I ever had a below-40-red-capped player from the draft. If so, very rare. But to be fair, most players I draft have anyway physics already 40+ and those taken in 2nd and especially 3rd round are often sold or cut prior they hit red cap. |

Some comments one the QB you selected: - quite old at 22, still you will get 9 seasons (including this) out of him. For a new team, not bad. - INT 50 is of course great, 2 traits also - his str and spe are I hope for you not capped yet. If you scout the QBs of the top teams, you will see, that they prefer a high spe value, say 48+ to avoid sacks. The str is likely for the zip, so the more the better, but not crucial. Usually they have 40+, more likely 45+. That's the reason, why INT 50, SPE 50 players often get sold for a high price. - EXP 4.0 is good, Talent 5.0 is not so important, since you won't train him to 50 soon, because of wage issues. Strength is yellow at 39 Speed will cap at 46 All true, what you say: as a new team, this is the best I can do. My current starter is no better, at 26yo. I will seize the opportunity to raise a couple QB prospects I have in the youth (not sure if they are worth the bother, but it's a game after all) Last edited on 2025-01-08 16:24:34 by Frankebasta |

Make sure you have read in jack6's blog how to maximize that speed.
I.e. - a big last push. |

Got a smart and strong 19 year old LB on 2nd pick, who is a gamble, since his spe is well below 40, but so far luckily uncapped and no sign of yellow.
I did sort him quite high, since he is young and could get some money on the market as OL prospect or also as QB prospect. But if his spe gets beyond 45, I will likely keep him. |

Me gots 19 y.o Ball Stripper with respectable, for his LB designation, 48.5 spe, coupled with 44 something int and just 1/2 star missing to max tal.
Str is already yellow at 40.3 and that doesn't bid well for my preferred 46/48 OLB's. Possible, but from my experience - really unlikely. Also, tw just below 30 is kind of low. Won't be gaining fast. But - come on, Piotr. It's a second rounder, for god's sake. Did you expect a qb with 46/50 trackstar and perfect int/tal? ![]() |

at 19, you can overtrain his str one it is capped quite fast, but of course that is not a great option.
You might shift him to DB? |

Yeah, of course. I'll first wait to see what his str turns out to be. Because right now I don't have too few players at each position - I have too many _undertrained_ ones
