I think that the complexity of the game si a brake to new managers. Most online games are pretty easy to handle whereas RZA is very dense. The manager license is a pretty good effort to make the game easier but I think that it isn't enough to deal with the game. If you are not an american football expert, you get lost pretty soon and I think that's why managers give up. They don't want to spend hours just understanding the game.

That's why I was thinking writing a "RZA guide for dummies" with a kind of help to begin simply and efficiently with the game. (game presentation, timeline, first steps, major skills and descriptions for each positions, mistakes to avoid...). I know that many informations are on the FAQ and the manual but a practical sum up would have in my opinion good impact on retaining newbies. Nad after that they maybe will begin to push further in order to have more significant results...

Do you need any help for writing the stuff? Please tell!

I would suggest that you keep it as a "guide" in that it isn't a list of steps that everyone does. What I like about the game here is the ability to have different approaches to building your team. I wouldn't want to see the "copy cat" list of things that everyone does like on -TOG- Everything becomes rather vanilla, boring, repetitive, and just uncreative. I mean, any joker can follow a set of directions.

I doesn't mean to say how to play and what to do precisely. But more to explain game to non US football experts. The goal is to simplify the game to newbies who could be discouraged by seeing all the options of the game without understanding them.

So it is not a "First Steps" thing, much or an explanation of the whole idea here...

I started it and tried to make it quite fun to attract newbies to read it before give up! It will take some times bacause I have to check all the game to avoid mistakes and also write in an understandable english!

When I was reffering to first steps, it was not intended to tell newbies how to play but more giving some little advice on how to begin managing your team (get the manager license done, don't flush all your money on transfer market without scouting kind of stuff...)

maybe some screen shots with your brief descriptions might work. ppl relate faster if they can see where they need to go as a reference than just a few lines of text. on the effort though.

where is this how to lose a game Pete? would like to read it.

[edit] maybe even as much as a little youtube video guide to the basics.
