Is it kind of a consensus that the I and Big I formations seem to be less effective run formations that the other formations? Seems to be a lot of informal talk about that...

Doesn't seem to be a problem for this Supercup Finalist!

Check Stats on any of his Supercup games: 100% I-Formation (which, iirc, some think is a poor rushing formation).

No they are still fine for the run, it is just that the fb doesn't block. Otherwise it would be a great running formation. For now it is...ok. Of course a lot depends on your team's makeup and the opponent. It does seem that the Big I vs the 5-3-3 is the typical off vs def matchup. Those often seem to be big gambles every play. Either you are stuffed or 10+ yards.

For me the I-formation turned out to be one of the most effective formations and I use run plays in up to 90% of all plays at the moment... shame on my QBs. :-)

I got these impression two. So if a team run on all 3 down with I-Formation against 5-3-3 than the chance is very high that he will on one of the 3 downs 10+ yards and a new first down. 3 new downs same procedure. Easy do march down the field.
A way to stop this could be that the defender play not always 5-3-3 against I-Formations on every down.

Maybe against the 5-3-3 and the 5-2 defense, but it's good too.

This in the real bug of this game: a player can go at ANY snap with I-form over the left tackle and win a large amount of games. In a real game the HB is choppered into several pieces after 7-8 runs.
