Sorry guys but I didn't use any "real formulas"... That's why I start to do this further in season. And I think it's easier in 1.X because of no newbies... It's quite subjective but I think you know who are the best teams already. I just take into account, records, strike, scores (you rewarded if you beat a top team), and some subjective views... And as you know, even in NFL power rankings could heavily change during a week.

Now that you said that, I tried to figure out an "objective calculation for rankings" but I think that finally that's not the best idea... You already have the league rankings. Here you can go with the way you want, give some subjectivity... It's more a bragging time. Just try to stay fair in your rankings but I think that it offers more in order to develop a living community and some rivalries here in the forum... And as you know, the more you will be active in your league, the more players will stick in there and have fun!!!

Either we could do it like on nfl.com ("Power rankings"), which is completely subjective. Rankings would be based on form and "toughness" of schedule. Same concept that NYDOGS used in Admiral 2.2. Alternatively, the Admins could develop a system to rank all teams using a certain key, based on league and cup performance. Adding and subtracting points based on wins and losses, with less points added when beating bots or lower league teams, etc. Sth like the UEFA 5 year ranking. Obviously, the 1st option is easier to introduce. We'd just need a motivated volunteer. For the 2nd option we need our Admins to be convinced by this idea, and put in extra work... |

By the time I can afford such a transfer sum, the top teams will have bought at least 10 great players. However, I'm not worried. Sooner or later it will become more balanced. Also the draft sytem helps to give losing teams the opportunity to pick up top players ahead of the Big Boys, such as yourself, Pete. Good luck and Merry Christmas to you, too! |

By the way...
Acquired a copy of the Football Rankulator... Specifically designed for NCAA football, so it's going to take some time delete all the Conferences and teams and get all of our league loaded... Rankings coming soon... Hopefully by Christmas... I think I can get everything loaded by end of day, and maybe setup the ranking system tomorrow... Good to be off for the Holidays... Wish me luck...!!! |
