Maybe we should limit the number of bids a manager could make on one player, at the same time we remove the limits on new bids. So each manager can place up to X bids per player, and the highest one gets it. By this, we could remove the deadline, and transfer the player if there are Y hours with no new bids on him.

Let's say X is 5, and Y 24...

Interesting one - X is fine, Y is too high - Transfer could go for over 10 days then easily but also gives nice strategic one

I could just extend the bid until my next homegame to have more money

I used Y=24 top allow managers that login once per day, not to miss the brand new prospect on the market

And I am not afraid on the 10 days auction...if it happens, it happens

You can't remove the limit, because I would allow the cheating, which you allways warried about.

5 bids would be ok.

I would say a player has to stay a minimum of 2 days on the transfermarket and than the bidding end 12 or 24 hours after the last bid. With no deadline you have to check the TM everyday.

Valid point, Buffalo! The limits have to stay how they are, but the other part of that idea would still work.

10 Managers = 50 possible bids

They can still raise the prize in a bidding war over 20 Mio.

I think limiting the bids in a first step would work. Starting with 5 bids for each team, with the option to reduce it to 4 or 3 if the system don't work.

I would first stay with the old deadline system.

10 managers = 50 bids = 50 days in TM

Then the elder players will celebrate their retirement in the TM.

I say NO, to this suggestion !

Please let the TM as it is. There are some pro and some cons on the old system. But everyone know these, then I think everyone can live with the ols system.

Thank you

Wrong. This is only valid if each manager would wait 23:59:59 to place his bid, and this won't happen, IMO

It is not a discussion to replace anything yet or within hours, much more it is just a discussion to find a better way for the future

No 50 days, if we stay with the acutal deadline system.

Hmmm...and a secret bid?
You can see only that for a player are bidding 8-10 teams, but you can not see the amount until the end of the deadline...

Another possibility:

Change the minimum raise amount for the next bid from $1,000 to a 10% increase.

It won't make much difference when the bidding is low, but it speeds things along at higher levels...

$1,000,000 requires a overbid of $1,100,000
$10,000,000 needs a next bid of $11,000,000 instead of 10,001,000.

or,

remove the 50% cap on new bids. Then we could raise bids by double or triple or whatever. If you are interested in a player, you can make your max bid and then go to bed.

Sorry to keep throwing new wrinkles in - I hope it's helping the debate.

I kinda like the Nerfing idea best.....
