So, on December 4th, I dumped out an excel file of my team. On February 24th, I dumped out another file and compared it to the original team. My goal was to see if I could find out how quickly the the 'secondary stats' such as 'vision' and 'footwork' trained compared to the primary stats such as carrying and passing.

Based on the three months or so training, no one on my team trained any secondary stats at all. Not so much as a single tenth of a point changed for anyone. The primaries were all there - QBs got better in passing, OLs got better in blocking, LBs got better at tackling, etc. but no one got better in any secondary skill except those I manually trained through the youth academy.

Just an observation.

I´m not sure what you want to tell us with that. you´re responsible for training the primary and secondary skills of your players. if you want them to improve you have to s e l e c t them in the training chart. There is no automatic training for usefull secondary skills when you train a primary skill.

There is no "secondary training"...the players and coaches follow nthe set regime...there is no "focus on" or similar..

Could it be, that he missunderstood "train main skill for position"?

I think he understand, that with this option, all skills, which are important for the position, will be trained equally.

Right is, that only one main skill for each position will be trained.

IF he played on -TOG-then there is training in several skills at the same time, right? You could set training to be for vision but vision and positioning were both trained. Correct? In any case it is different here.

See... I didnt even know that. And thats where the "guess work" comes in that I dont like. I really want my players high on awareness and now I have to guess which position uses the positioning skill vs the vision skill. I honestly figured that if I kept them at "main skill traning" the game would automatically divide the training regimen where they best should go.

No, this is not an autopilot.

There is an very obvious technical main skill for each position, like blocking for OL, or passing for QB. The "main skill" thing was made to mak it easier for newbees, when they move their players from one position to another. It was not made to replace the planning of your own training regime.

Believe me you don't want how it was before where skills were trained that didn't help your player. It was such a waste of sp.
