We are past the halfway mark and some divisions are shaping up already. Thought it would be nice to keep an updated playoff standing from here on out...
AC EAST Zaragoza 7-3 Malakas 7-3 AC North Valhalla 9-1 Fajny 8-2 Sweaty Bulls 8-2 AC South Land o lakes 5-5 Les Mousquetairs 5-5 Essen Panther 2-8 AC West Pink Panthers 10-0 Majalorca Pigs 9-1 NC East Kolin 6-4 Oldham6-4 NC North Mystic 9-1 SF 9-1 NC South Horada 8-2 NC West Girona 9-1 Eagles 7-3 There are obvious balance issues from division to division this season. In the AC it is possible to have 2 teams not make the playoffs with only 2 losses! While in the NC most of the playoff spots look to be taken (not the seeding of course) with 2 teams fighting for the final spot. The AC will be interesting to watch. |

I did some number crunching on the remaining schedules, and it looks to me like the wild cards will probably come from both north and west divisions, with the defending champion missing the playoffs.

AC EAST Zaragoza 8-3 Malakas 7-4 Damn, tough games ahead for both squads. Malakas has Fajny, me, and Zaragoza for the last three games of the season. While Zaragoza has Valhalla and Malakas left. Anyone's division, probably comes down to the last game of the season for them. AC North Valhalla 9-2 Fajny 9-2 Sweaty Bulls 8-3 What is tough about being in a good division? The remaining schedule for each team! Valhalla has Zaragoza, Sweaty Bulls, and Fajny. Sweaty Bulls has Valhalla, Fajny, and Pink Panthers. Fajny has sweaty, Horada, Valhalla, and Malakas. Basically a round robin in the stretch run will decide this thing. AC South Land o lakes 5-6 Les Mousquetairs 5-6 Essen Panther 3-8 AC West Pink Panthers 11-0 Majalorca Pigs 10-1 Pigs have Girona and Panthers left while Pink Panthers have Sweaty and Pigs to play. To win the division Pigs needs to win out and have Panthers lose to Sweaty. The point diff. of 72 points might be too much to overcome otherwise. AC Playoff possibilities( Most likely in my opinion): Div winners Pink Panthers Land o Lakes or Les Valhalla Zaragoza Wild cards Pick 2 of the following Pigs Fajny Sweaty Malakas NC East Kolin 6-5 Oldham6-5 They are both behind a bot team by one game. They both play each other twice from here on out. Only one can win the division but the other is still in the wild card hunt for now. NC North Mystic 10-1 SF 10-1 I play Mystic the last game of the season that may determine who is the division winner and who is a wild card team. We are both virtual locks. Although I have tough games coming up vs Hasta Luego, Malakas, and Alice Springs before I play Mystic who has owned me for several seasons. NC South Horada 9-2 One more win and Horada has locked down the division. NC West Girona 10-1 Eagles 7-4 Girona is a few wins away from taking the division. Both teams have tough games left, more so for the eagles. NC Playoff spots most likely to occur: Div Winners Kolin or Oldham Mystic of SF Horada Girona Wild Card Mystic or SF Eagles, Kolin, or Oldham |

Agree with you re Malakas & Alice Springs ... both good teams. Mystic has got the indian sign over you .... they're also an excellent team. Disagree re Hasta Luego, they WERE a superb team at the start of the season, but then he sold $245Million (!!!!) of players, i.e. 6 Draft players - no team can do that without suffering badly - and that team has been in a downward spiral ever since .... will probably be Bot before the week is out. btw, the high number of Bot teams in Dragons 1.1. is disturbing, the relegation standings are distorted by it and 1 or 2 teams that don't deserve to be relegated probably will be directly because of it. |

AC EAST Zaragoza 9-3 Malakas 7-5 With a 2 game lead it looks as though Zaragoza will win this division. Malakas losing to Hasta Luego was a surprise to me and looks to be a very costly game. AC North Valhalla 10-2 Fajny 10-2 Sweaty Bulls 9-3 Still waiting for the round robin with these three teams. If there is a tie in the standings then Valhalla has a big advantage in PD. AC South Land o lakes 6-6 Les Mousquetairs 6-6 Essen Panther 4-8 Who would have thought a team could be 4-8 and have a legit chance at the playoffs while a team in another division could be out with a 3 loss season? Wow. AC West Pink Panthers 12-0 Majalorca Pigs 11-1 Nothing changed... AC Playoff possibilities( Most likely in my opinion): Div winners Pink Panthers Land o Lakes or Les Valhalla Zaragoza Wild cards Pick 2 of the following Pigs Fajny Sweaty Malakas NC East Kolin 6-6 Oldham6-6 Dynamos (bot) 7-5 Holy crap, these two human teams might still lose to the bot team for the division. How? Kolin and Oldham both have 2 games left hth. If they split and then split the other remaining games (both play a bot and a human team) they finish at 8-8 each. Dynamo bot team has a bot team left to play, so one win against that bot team will put it at 8-8 record. Dynamo built up a decent pd before going bot, enough that it could break the tie if needed! Wow NC North Mystic 11-1 SF 11-1 Alice Springs put a scare in me this week but not much has changed except we both have clinched a playoff spot. NC South Horada 10-2 Clinched division. NC West Girona 11-1 Clinched playoff spot. Eagles 7-5 NC Playoff spots most likely to occur: Div Winners Kolin or Oldham Mystic of SF Horada Girona Wild Card Mystic or SF Eagles, Kolin, or Oldham, or Bot team. |

Well it is interesting to note that with 3 games left to go that 4 of the 6 playoff spots in the NC are clinched and not a one in the AC is clinched. wow.
AC EAST Zaragoza 7-6 Malakas 10-3 What is funny is I have been switching their record around for several games now and no one noticed.  lol
Zaragoza has lost 4 in a row now. They should win the next 2 but then play Malakas the last game of the year. Looks grim for Zaragoza but have no fear it isn't a cake walk for Malakas either. Malakas has these final 3 games: next against Fajny who just blanked Sweaty, then me, and finally Zaragoza. If Malkas stumbles the next 2 weeks, very possible as Fajny is 11-2 and I'm 12-1, then the final game of the year will be Zaragoza 9-6 vs Malakas 10-5. Malakas has a pd advantage of 53 over Zaragoza but.. Malakas plays vs Fanjy who gives up less than 10 points a game and then me who gives up just over 10 points a game. While... Zaragoza plays vs Cornhuskers who give up around 20 points a game and then Godger who gives up 25 points a game. It might end up being a straight up winner take all in this division....wow. AC North Valhalla 11-2 Fajny 11-2 Sweaty Bulls 9-4 Fajny handled Sweaty 19-0 today. Fajny and Sweaty have tough games coming up. Anyone's division still... AC South Land o lakes 7-6 Les Mousquetairs 7-6 Essen Panther 4-9 I believe Essen is now out of the running as it would take them finishing 3-0 and the other 2 both losing the last 3 and losing BIG. The only thing Essen has going for it is that it plays both division rivals still. Land o lakes is got to be the favorite now. Les M has to play pigs and that is going to be a loss. AC West Pink Panthers 13-0 Majalorca Pigs 11-2 Pigs are likely fighting for wild card seeding right now. Panthers will not lose the next 2 games and have a commanding pd advantage over pigs. NC East Kolin 7-6 Oldham6-7 Dynamos (bot) 8-5 Oh....My....Dynamos could really win this division, I think. Dynamos will lose to Kolin and Mystic but could beat Atlantis (bot) to finish at 9-7. Kolin will beat Dynamos and Hasta then play Oldham again. Oldham will beat Atlantis and lose to Girona then play Kolin. So Oldham is pretty much out as they will be 7-8 with one game to go vs Kolin and then Kolin will be 9-6 when they face Oldham again. IF Kolin loses then Dynamos will win the division. IF Kolin wins out then it will win the division with a 10-6 record. NC North Mystic 12-1 SF 12-1 Mystic will win the next 2 games vs Godger and Dynamos while I play the now bot Hasta and Malakas. To win the division I have to beat Malakas (a tough, tough, tough game) and then beat Mystic. It is all about seeding and getting some home field advantage in the playoffs. The winner here most likely would be the number 2 seed barring a loss by Girona to Horada next week then it would be for the number 1 seed and home field throughout the playoffs. The loser would then be a 3 or possibly 4 seed. NC South Horada 11-2 Clinched division. Even though they have clinched they have some impacts on the playoff landscape in both conferences as they face Fanjy who is fighting for a division and Girona who is fighting for seeding. NC West Girona 12-1 Clinched playoff spot. Eagles 8-5 Eagles are fighting for a playoff spot and it doesn't look good for them. They have the same record as the bot team but it has a -87 pd while the bot team has a 117 pd. I agree that sthlm eagles will end up at 9-7, but I still think they're the favorites for the #6 seed. Oldham typhoons won't have a shot because they also play girona, meaning they'll finish at 8-8 at best. Kolin walruses has rohrheim and terassa who are both bot but still strong, and then a last minute fight with oldham for a potential spot. If kolin loses any 2 out of those 3 which is possible, then the eagles make the playoffs.
In the AC the race is much more obvious, with sweaty bulls padova and zaragoza manos both missing out as well as all but one of the AC South teams. |

i must admit im a bit suprised with the way how majalorca has been defeated. assuming they were one of the best teams last season, seems like they didnt worked too hard through the off season. same goes for malakas/zaragoza, it was a hell of a division. now, 10-3 and 7-6 isnt that impressive.
so AC N, AC W and NC N seem to be the toughest divisions this year, but who will earn the bragging rights? we will see in the playoffs, especially the bowl game  Last edited on 2012-04-13 09:18:15 by jodla |
