Cam Newton, Gronk, D Mac, Mike Wallace, SF DST and Steve Johnson.

Schaub is hard to pass, but i doubt youd be starting many QBs over Newton from a fantasy perspective - the rest are all likely starters so those are the way id go myself. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Last season, I had these 6 guys (see below) pencilled in as my Keepers

D McFadden
C Newton
M Wallace
R Gronkowski
S Johnson
M Schaub

My reasoning was simple, the first 4 are quality players, Johnson is v.good (but a bit Moronic !) ...... Schaub was going to be used as 'Trade Bait'.

However, I'm now having a re-think. Last season, I'm sure it was a 12-Team Keeper League, when I look at the league now, it's down to 10 teams , therefore assuming that the Roster sizes/Starting Positions aren't changed it alters the landscape slightly i.e. Schaub is more-or-less a Top 10 QB therefore should have been attractive to another team, maybe not so much now.
I also noticed last year that some of my fellow players were , errrm, rather unrealistic in their trade demands e.g. I tried to take LeGarrett Blount from somebody, they sent me a counter-offer asking for Gronkowski AND a 2nd Round Pick for Blount ... ROTFL !!!!

The other problem is the 49'ers Defense ... great Defense, the one to have last year in FantasyLand, but goes against all perceived wisdom to have a Defense as a Keeper.

The thought that C Ponder will have a good season this year, as might E Dekker, as might V Brown is also crossing my mind.

Hmmm, tricky !

It does go against convention to have a DST as a keeper - but youre talking the number 1 unit in the league in a position that is a starter every week. What i mean by that is ok, Christian Ponder may well have a good season, but how often are you going to start him realistically? Id suspect youd have a good chance of picking him back up, or better, in the redraft, because pretty much most weeks youre gonna be starting Newton.

I did consider Decker as a keeper, especially with Manning behind center in Denver now - but again, i think theres an embarrassment of riches at the WR position this season - you already have two slots filled and youll likely be targetting WR in R1 or 2, along with an RB and can key on these two positions for almost the first half of the draft - and improve your lineup. But the 49ers unit will be the first DST taken - after that youre playing catch up, and unless youre happy to play the waivers from a DST perspective based on matchup, id keep the #1 ranked unit and again be prepared to offer them as a tasty trade morsel if you happen to pick up another decent DST unit or are happy to play the waivers.

OK, different league this time (yeah, I've got zillions of these ...I could post one a day for the next millenium !) ...

This one is a little tricky as this is a 20 team Keeper League, so the waver wires are thinner than Nicole Kidman

Starting positions are : -

QB , RB , RB , WR , WR , TE , W/T , K , DL , LB , DB

Pick 3 Keepers from these guys (please state your reasons why) :-

C Newton
G Jennings
J Graham
R White
S Weatherspoon
S Johnson
K Bell
C Benson
Demaryius Thomas
R Williams
B Tate
S Gostkowski
C Ivory
B Jacobs
M Sanchez
K Williams
D Landry
E Dumervil

Cam Newton - no explanation really required

Jimmy Graham - as long as Brees is behind centre in NO this guy will be a fantasy stud in his position - you can barely improve (Gronk excepted) so why chuck him away?

Greg Jennings/Roddy White - Tough call - both are borderline #1 receivers and will give you solid returns, but are now part of great receiving corps rather than being the go to guy. Because of his relationship with the best QB in the NFL (IMO) id go for Jennings, but thats maybe more a shorter term view than long term.

Keep em coming!!!!

keep em coming ! ..lol .......I had about 35+ leagues last year, absolutely crazy ....thankfully there were quite a few "public redraft leagues", so I can slim the number down this year.

I agree with your 3 choices, they are the 3 I'd provisionally put in the keeper slots ..... my reasoning for the tiebreak with White/Jennings was basic ... Jennings is 28,White is 30, therefore White may be 'on the turn'.
Jenning's knee problems at the end of last season worry me though, nothing worse than a WR with a dodgy knee.

I've got a Dynasty league conundrum that I'll post soon ....that's tougher because the waiver wires are thin there, and the league is full of snooty managers who don't seem to want to trade even if the trade looks tasty, they prefer to send uppity Emails along the lines of "how dare you offer me player X for my Player Y " .... yeah right, whatever !

Oh form your first one.
Dont overlook BJ Green-Ellis This year he going to have over 1000 yards easy with the Bengals this year not to mention he will get plenty of chance to turn points on the goalie as well

I did 16 fantasy leagues last season and thought i was a freak of nature...seems a reasonable number in comparison!!!

I do anticipate doing more this year though - and very much looking forward to the RZA leagues.

Didnt realise Roddy was as old as that - and older than Jennings - makes the selection of Greg even more viable then - i think you have to overlook the knee issues - ive seen nothing so far that indicates its a likely problem going into the 2012/13 season.

For my part, im looking forward to seeing where RGIII gets taken in drafts - very early in keeper/dynasty leagues i reckon - in single season formats i think a few will reach for him with the view he will 'do a Cam' - me, im not so sure - i think Shanahan will wanna keep his puppy on quite a tight leash, so realistically i think around R7/8/9 is his level, potentially as a backup QB. He will likely be the only Redskin taken though - maybe Fred Davis will have a few supporters - Helu in deeper leagues maybe...but thats about it!
