wont call it football in case i have to spend 3 pages explaining/justifying the difference!

New season in England starts this weekend - i think the rest of the European leagues start later in the month - with the Championship getting underway (the league where my team play, one below the Premier League) - with that kicking off a week later.

Anyone any interest? Any predictions to make? Im still not sure how Manchester United lost the league last season but expect them to make up for it this season, especially if they get van Persie from Arsenal - but apart from that just looking forward to seeing Barcelona in action again!

Portuguese league also start this weekend (not that anyone cares lol) but S.L.B. FTW or Benfica For The Win!!!

My money is on Liverpool.....To finish between 5th and 10th placed in the league finale. Championship will be a two possibly three teams race between Man Blue and Man Red, might see Totenham in that Mix but that will depend if they are able to get some big names in the Market, think they are trying to aquire Hulk from F.C. Porto (Great Player) . Then Chelsea who is a old team who had a great run late last season with Di Matteo that allowed them to Win the Champions League, but I doubt that in a season with 38 games where regularity is key they will be able to chalenge both Manchester teams. Arsenal as always don't have the cash for huge signings but will be one of the teams playing the best soccer, yet will fall short yet again, but stil a top 5 finish. I might be forgetting some teams here but I think I covered the main stream teams.

Other leagues champions of 2012/13 My Picks:

Portugal - Benfica
Spain - Real Madrid
Italy - Internazionale
Germany - Borusia Dortmund
France - P.S.G.
Russia - Zenit of St. Petersburg
Ukraine - Dinamo Kiev
Greece - Panathinaikos
Turkey - Galatassaray
Suisse - F.C. Basel

Depends on what you class as 'interest'....live midweek European football costs my business money, makes me have to deal with foul-mouthed drunken yobs, and has generally driven me away from a game I used to enjoy.

Frequently, when a British team plays in the Champions League knockout stages, I lose £40-£75. My job? I run pub quizzes. My regulars do not want to have to put up with the idiots. So the pubs often cancel the quiz nights on evenings when they are likely to get a football crowd in.

Too much money in the sport, too much attitude, too many tournaments, too expensive - too much of it in general.

A few days after the Olympics finish, the BBC website and the newspapers fill the space with football again. There are other sports. Unfortunately the braindead, council estate thugs have already been indoctrinated so the media panders to the stupid.

Bring back 3pm saturday kickoffs. And go back to the days when only the champions of each country's league played each other. Limit player wages. Make them call the refs 'sir' and send them off for swearing and spitting. Put a cap on the number of overseas players allowed. Then I might watch club football again.
