I like Downing but do not class him as your typical winger the same as giggs when he burst onto the scene. Both can play (obviously giggs is a lot better) but neither have ever been a decent crosser of the ball.

Stewart Downing was absolutely brilliant ....... in Football Manager 2005 !

then again, in some of the earlier versions of Championship Manager .. players such as Julian Joachim and Chris Bart-Williams were World Class

Yeah I remember that so was Robbie Keane when he was at Wolves. Danny Murphy and Neil Lennon when they were at Crewe. Didn't the writers put themselves into one of the game and two players at somewhere like Cambridge were world beaters lol

I deliberately played one 'save game' season-after-season for a long time into the future to see what would happen .... it made me howl with laughter when I saw that Zinedine Zidane was a Physio at Notts County and David Beckham was a Scout at somewhere obscure (think it was Shrewsbury or somewhere like that ..... I can just imagine Victoria Beckham living in Shrewsbury ).

I can imagine the face of the manager at the local macdonalds when she rings to book a table.

lmao........!

my old man came from Bury - he was a Man U fan - fortunately he used to take me to the BBG, reserves at first (i threw a ball that came into the stands to Bruce Rioch!) and then to first team games...so have always been a Derby fan. But have a soft spot for Man U.

No allegiance to any of the Brummie teams then wadders?

SH8888 whos your team - or would that give away your secret location?

Not overly mate got friends and family who support Villa and the same with the blues.

I believe SH8888 is United from comments I have heard from him but he could admit that and not give up his secret location

That photo is not from my family album I have blonde hair lol

If I admitted to being United, you'd then know that I lived in Surrey !

i still think for some reason - and i really dont know why - that SH8888 is a Sunderland fan and from that area.

i had a £20 bet with a local Scouser that Derby would score more points in the Championship this season than Liverpool would in the Premiership. Easy money for yours truly IMO!

Other £20 bets we hand (who ive had first)

Man City beat Chelsea by more than 7 points
Barcelona beat Real Madrid to La Liga title
