Haha. Just out of my meeting with the board. They were pissed I didn't make time to gameplan and while obv disappointed with the playoff result they know that we are ahead of schedule, to come joint top in the AC in our 3rd season in 1.1 is a 'simply breathtaking achievement, beyond our wildest dreams', so they'll let me stay on for another few seasons. We have a crop of 5 18yo's that'll be draft quality by the time they reach 22 w/o YA points and they want to see how I develop them. Plus I got a new okish TE for 3.5mil that'll replace the steaming pile of shite playing there atm (not only can't he catch, but 9 of the 13 picks my QB threw were aimed at that guy, and the new guy will give a boost to my running O) and give me more options with SG2WR. Annnnd drafting lower will help pick up that CB I need to freshen up my passing D after a disappointing season... The future's bright, the future's (green, white and) orange I think you have the best D# in the AC and allowing 42 points must hurt. Your offense is dangerous, too, with Campbell and McKenna. So this season was a missed opportunity, but your team is still on the right track and with a better offense a good competitor in the next few seasons. Edit: But the future is still black, gold and green Last edited on 2013-03-27 14:16:56 by Buffalo |

Edit: But the future is still black, gold and green My D didn't feel as strong last season, I made some changes at the start that were in hindsight big mistakes but I've fixed that now. And I think a good CB in the first round to replace the aging Cvijic will be the last piece of the puzzle so to speak. NGG were the only team to concede fewer points and I think on paper I do have the best starting D in the AC. My O has been a big improvement this season. I moved JC from TE to WR towards the end of last season and haven't looked back. And MacKenna has had an excellent rookie year (how he ended up bottom of the 2nd round I don't know). The TE I picked up is has no caps so he'll be at least 45/42 str/spd lol, bargain. So I've got the playmakers. My problem is a lack of depth beyond my starters. I remember one game JC and Eric Wilson got injured in the first quarter and my team really struggled for the rest of the game. But I'm trying to fix that on the TM now (and it'll also give me the personnel to play something other than the I formation). With a bit of luck I might have made it to the bowl, but I don't think I'd have a chance against you/celtics/Naprzód. I mentioned it last season but my aim is to be a serious contender in season 9 and I think I'm on course for that... edit: The present is black, gold and green. But the future is certainly not Last edited on 2013-03-27 16:13:45 by holmeboy |

Sometimes I wonder if I should tank to just miss the playoffs. I've thought the same thing... I did tank the last game in my first 1.1 season to make sure I didn't make it (Charrs made it with 5-11 lol) because it was the difference in like 10-15 places. And I think we're in a similar spot, we started around the same time (I was fortunate enough to start just before the draft, you just after iirc) and doing well to challenge teams who have been around longer. But is success affecting us long term? Thats why I wasn't fussed when I got knocked out... Those extra few places could mean I get the player I want. Like what happened in 2.x where I was drafting one or two places before you and picked up JC... And maybe pick up someone useful in the 3rd rather than being stuck with whats left |

Terrible game vs the old rivals Naprzod today... my offense managed to capitalise on their failure to convert a risky 4th and 1 early on, and then moved the ball nicely on a drive when my opposition called the right defensive formation on every down!
As for the rest of the game, offensively nothing. Defensively, a couple of crucial sacks kept Marsz to field goals when they were moving the ball well. We need to be better against the Cardinals |

Whoever gets the losers of the Portsmouth Punishers vs Nestaved Dolphins and Aston Rovers vs Bangui Brewers won't have it easy winning their relegation play-off games |
