Yes nice win for the Jackets! But I wouldn't discount the Lions by that much I think they have taken a big step this season. Maybe not consistent for a Tier1 team but definitely a high tier2 team in FIRE 1.1. IMO Agree with beeing a good Tier 2 team, not a high tier 2 team tho. Not yet at least. Lanmeur had plenty of chances to win this one, they have a some beast players that I can't compete with at this point (salary strategy naturaly), but like I mentioned, they threw some interceptions that the Lions cashed in. I'd say Lanmeur is a high tier 2 team and the Lions a Medium. But in these kind of games suprises can happen, specialy if you take the supposedly weaker team lightly (not saying that's what happened, because it didn't look like it was). Jackets I consider them to also be a Medium Tier 2 team, but the Bears are an Elite team, so big suprise there. petef wrote:I know I wont take them lightly

What can I say about playoffs participants after 9 weeks of the regular season?
AC East Lions and Islanders will determine which of them will be a division winner. Loser of this fight will have a very good chance for wildcard berth though. AC North Gladiators are the div. winners. Other teams have only theoretical chances for playoffs. AC South Magpies will win the division and Lanmeur have a good chance to play in wildcard playoff. AC West Three teams can win this division. After a glance on their remaining schedule I bet on Valdainois. So I think that the following teams will make playoffs: Lions, Islanders, Gladiators, Magpies, Lanmeur and Valdainois. NC East Underachievers will win the division. Bulls will fight for the wildcard berth. NC North Lambruschia win the div., Jackets fight for playoffs spot. NC South Bears win this division. Other teams have no real chances for playoffs. NC West Gladiatori win, Guardians and Eagles will fight for the wildcard berth. Its very hard to guess who will win a "wildcard" race in NC, but I gonna try it: Jackets and Eagles. So from NC in playoffs will play imo these teams: Underachievers, Lambruschia, Jackets, Bears, Gladiatori and Eagles. Do you agree with me, guys? |

I wouldn't count the Rams out just yet, still 8 games to be played and they are 3 games back, and with the schedulle creeping, I am already antecipating a ectic finish in the AC East. Lions facing the Gladiators next round so chance for both the Islanders and the Rams gain one game on them righ there. Rams are favourites against the Linz Steelers, while the Islanders will have a challenge agaisnt the Acorns. So after this regular season round I expect the table to show:
Lions 8-2 Islanders 7-2 Rams 6-4 Even if the Islanders win against the Acorns, the Islanders will still be close enough to not be ruled out. And everyone will still play everyone in this division one more time! So ectic ending coming, but fun and deserving to whoever ends up in the postseason. |

According to the League home page the Mighty Lions have secured a place in the postseason!!! WOOT
It will be the first time for the Lions to travel to the postseason, but reports are that after todays come from behind spectacular win, and instead of returning home to rest, the team went on to celebrate to an undisclosed location. Some pics leaked but nothing was confirmed on it's veracity. ![]() Source: http://i43.tinypic.com/mbnvw6.jpg Early reports also mentioned that Team owner Canonico was not near the team at his undisclosed location... ![]() Source: http://i43.tinypic.com/rgw714.gif |
