Week 1 results (=overall standings):

1. Bova 16-0 (1.000) - wow, pretty good you posted it in time! congrats!
2. wiesengrund 12-4 (.750) - Hackney kicking that FG really stopped a possible upset in the tracks, but I still underestimated the Bulldogs and Convicts big time.
3. Simkon 11-4 (.733) - That ShoV pick...

Wise words, first week of season 9 and already 4 pages, that is awesome

Just for comparison, the season threads of the galaxy and fire league are still on page number 1

So, Thunder really rocks!

Thanks guys.

We'll never beat Admirals though as bwadders and MTS never stop posting, though we could run a close second with Dragons.

Games to watch : At the bottom end, I think the game between standbyme and Verdammten is a big game for both of them if they want to avoid releagaton and should be an interesting game to watch.
I think standbyme will win this.

Out of the playoff contenders I think the game between Bratswurst and Pankrac will be the one to watch. I think pankrac will come out on top by 10-17 points.

Also Dolphin vs falcons is a big game in terms of who will win the AC west. very close one to call but I have to go for Falcons by under 10 points.

Bavarian Bratwursts vs. Slavia Pankrác
The Bratwursts are coming off a good game against the Bears, but Slavia is still the champ and beat them the last time they played in Season 7.
PICK: SLAVIA

Berlin Templar Knights vs. Guisborough Priors
Another tough mathcup for the Knights, who are still acclimating to the League.
PICK: PRIORS

Canco Hunters vs. Styrian Bears
First time matchup of those two teams. The Bears have the passing attack to exploit Canco's coverage isues.
PICK: BEARS

Chelsea Nation vs. Joburg Brawlers
This might be the most competitive game this week, since the talent level is so similar and both teams are coming off huge win against great teams. Joburg will look to exploit the middle of the field through the air, while Chelsea needs his groundgame to set the pace of the game, should be a fun game to watch.
PICK: JOBURG

China Chimp vs. Quarry Bay Raiders
One of the toughest divisional matchups each year, it's the battle of a fantastic running game against the Chinese Wall. Quarry might be in better form right now, but not by much.
PICK: RAIDERS

Hackney Marshes vs. SimKonville Fraggles
There's a bit of history here: Back in the 2.1 NC during the heydays of The Bottleneck (tm) Hackney was the Fraggles cryptonite: In Season 4 they upset the 4% favorite Fraggles in the playoffs with the score of 7:3, starting a long circle of frustration. The Fraggles finallly overcame that trauma two seasons ago with an undefeated season, and Hackney, the last of the Bottleneck teams, followed them last season to the 1.1, but don't think that the Fraggles forgot that Season 4 Wild Card game....
PICK: FRAGGLES

Landru Athletics vs. London Bulldogs
The Bulldogs stepped in mightily in week 1, but while the Patriots are known to underachieve, the same can never be said of the Athletics.
PICK: LANDRU

Packers vs. Lucentum Penguins
The Packers were leading the 4% favored Priors by 4 entering the 4th QT, and pete himself only know what the hell happened then. Their mighty aerial attack could upset the somewhat rusty seeming Penguins who managed 128 yard of total offense last week.
PICK: PACKERS

Sabercats Sopot vs. Steelers
Sopot has the better running game, but do they have the more complete team?
PICK: STEELERS

Severnside Falcons vs. General Rodriguez Warriors
The Warriors win over Hackney was close (Hackney kicked a last second FG when they could have gone for it to tie for OT) but the Severnside Falcons face a largeer talent gap to overcome than Hackney had.
PICK: WARRIORS

Superheroes on Vacation vs. Budapest Wolves
ShoV ist still the more well rounded team and should continue the sweep they started last year.
PICK: SHOV

Sydney Convicts vs. Juan Renegades
Convicts came out blazing in week 1, while the Renegades lost to a rookie.
PICK: CONVICTS

Texas Roadrunners vs. South Georgia Red Beavers
Texas is probably the more well rounded team here, eve though this could be a close one.
PICK: TEXAS

Vienna Falcons vs. Dolphins Pisa
After breaking the streak of four consecutive losses last season, the Falcons look to hold onto their grip on the division. Pisa is never easy to beat though.
PICK: FALCONS

Wild Thangs vs. Totoras Patriots
The Thangs should be favored here with the Pats losing to the Bulldogs last week.
PICK: THANGS

standbyme vs. Die Verdammten
Both teams had bitter lessons to learn last week.
PICK: VERDAMMTEN
