So I am curious as to how large specific position rosters are. How many wr's do you keep? Te's? CB's? Some positions are more obvious like QB, 2 or 3. I'm not sure how many to keep when considering energy usage. Right now I have 6 wr's on my depth chart, 6 cb's, 5 te's. Do you think it is ok to pare it down to 4 wr's 5cb's and 3 te's? You need at least 5 cb's for a dime defense, or does one of the slots count from the safety? I'll look on the last question. thanks!

Well some of that depends on your game plans, the quality you have at the position, age of players, etc. I'm hoping this is helpful, though.
I only have 4 CBs atm. One 2.5*, the rest 2*. I don't think that's enough, but nearly everyone on the roster seems to have 2** at the CB position, so I'm not worried about depth. All 4 have PC > 90%, so it looks like they aren't wearing out. In an ideal world I'd have 3 Starters, 2 backups and a couple in training. At WR I have 5 on the depth chart. One of them plays a lot of RB. Again they all have PC > 90%, so looks okay to me. Ideally, 3 starters, 2 backups, 2 in training. 3 TEs atm. All PC > 90%. Ideally, 3 starters 1 backup, 1 in training. (Pls note, my "ideal" will add up to a LOT more than 70 senior players!!) Dime = 4CB+2SF or 3CB+3SF ...depends on who your best 6 DBs are. I have to be honest: I haven't built a useful playbook, and I don't really scout any games yet, so I don't know if the engine is sticking my #8 OL in at CB or not during a game. (and for now I don't care.) I plan to play more attention to game-planning once I have some players worth building a game-plan around. For me, this season has been about building seats and training players. ![]() Last edited on 2011-10-19 20:19:49 by Lee1950 |

I think to have more players at the beginning is better. So you can later s e l e c t between players depending their physical caps.
My plan for my rooster: 2-3 QB 3-4 RB 2-3 FB 6 WR 4 TE 3-4 OT 3-4 OT 2 OC 3-4 DE 4-DT 1-2 NT 3-4 MLB 4 OLB 5-6 CB 2 SS 2 FS 2 K 2 P 2 G 1 KR =56-65 players 5 Spots for talented players from the youth academy. Last edited on 2011-10-20 06:47:29 by Buffalo |
