Hello,

thank you very much for giving this a try.

I would like to tell you something about your first steps. This is not a guide, just some advice to get an easier entrance into the game.

First of all, s e l e c t your team. You can do that by using the "s e l e c t your team" from the menu. Just type in a name, an abbreviation, choose your nationality. Be careful when you s e l e c t a division. This is a final decision. You determine the match kickoff time, because this is based on the region.

Next step should be finishing your manager license. You will earn some good money for each task you finish.

This game is not only about American Football and playing the game. Much more you have to keep the Clubs finances in shape. The two most important sources for income are your stadium and the sponsor. So building some seats is a good idea, and selecting your season sponsor is another good one.

You will find some useful information in the manual, and in the FAQ too. Having a read over there is important.

Notice the Coaches Assistant in the bottom bar ("hints"). It gives you some good advice on what's missing. There are hints for financial issues as well as hints for missing game tactics.

When you set your game tactics keep in mind your team is a bunch of poor football players. You will miss the next matches win if you go for "all pass deep". You can solve the missing skills by training. The training will become better if you hire some staff and if you open training facilities. But keep your finances in mind!

You can earn some income from Friendly matches on Friday. So don't forget to challenge other managers.

Once you followed those hints your team will be set, basically. Now it is time to join the other powerful tools. You should set tactics for both offense and defense. Don't miss to set match settings per match. You might set default settings - so if you miss the settings for a certain match the default settings become active.

Have a check on the Transfer market. Could be very well you can buy some good guys for your team. But have a look at the prices, you can't afford buying a million dollar guy now.

Check the draft board. Once per season you can pick up to 3 future stars - a great opportunity.

Finally, you will find friends in the community. How about having a closed competition between you and them? Give the Friendly Cup feature a try.

If you need any additional help and are too shy to join the forums, please have a look at the Mentors list, can be found in Help / Mentors. These guys are trying to help you making the first few steps in RedZoneAction.org.

If you like the game don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter. And you could post the referral link - you can find it in Help section, Credits. Users joining RedZoneAction.org using this link will give you some return. Another chance to earn some Credits is by connecting your Facebook profile to RedZoneAction.org. The game will post match results, based on your settings. For each posted match result there is some small reward.

Now, enjoy the game. If you want to learn some more about the Why and How, join the forum and check out the "Pete"-Link in the bottom.

Wish you a lot of fun

Yours,
Pete

Some (most) managers should have a read on the blog, especially the HowTo section.

I thought it might be a good idea to write down some lines about the advantages and disadvantages of having a HR Department, and therefore contract based salaries instead of skill driven salaries. Enjoy reading.

I expect a good portion of you switching to HR Department and Contract based salries, immediately

We added a new Howto, since the playbook and gamesettings are causing a good portion of confusion for newer managers. But even veteran managers should have a read, there might be some ideas in for them too...

We added a new feature to the players page. You will find a button called "reposition your players", and it helps you with exactly this task. Based on your given strategy (number of players per position, Offense over Defense etc) it creates a suggestion for your roster, based on the current abilities of your players. You could maje changes to that suggestion, or leave it as it is. All you have to do then is saving the changes.

Don't miss to adapt your Depth chart to the changed roster, but this should be an easy task...
