Straight out of the Space Kraken playbook, proclaim yourself underdog in a very even matchup. Welp, I've never trusted a Kraken so I'm not falling for this either.

Prediction: Hornets 29 Malones 25.

Guess i was right, 9 sacks and 3 ints made it a terrible result for us.

Good game mate, well done, you made us look rubbish.

Hmmm. AC West looks very 1-sided now, with the Eastern Wolves also fell BOT.

Another win by the Royal Roosters against a way higher-ranked opponent, but this time it wasn't even close.

Game to watch

Not much happening, but some people are taking a look at Rheydter Royal Roosters vs SARMIS

Roosters are 3-3 with an impressive win against MK Saints and very close losses to Hooligans and Weekenders.

SARMIS are 2-3 and on a 2 game win streak and plan to maker it 3-3

The numbers are very close with SARMIS only slightly in front.

I am going with the Roosters on this one, I think they can win this.

My prediction did not include the impact of spoiled leftovers and an unrepeatable 3 int day by one CB. I'm happy to take the result this time, but a proper diet from the Hornets OL and a return to normal from my secondary will spell trouble in a potential playoff rematch.

Six games in, time to take a gander at the NC. There's a few more human teams to sort through than in the AC. So here's my playoff outlook so far.

Unlikely to reach playoffs:
13. Oilers - no games in Monarchs 2, thrown right into Monarchs 1 and into a fully human division as well. A fully built stadium already is promising for the future, but this season was never going to be about the playoffs.

12. RanchBoards - wages rising faster than stadium and yet to strike the win column. Enjoy the draft pick and get that stadium built.

11. Phoenix Hummingbirds - full stadium, patient build. Not playing for this season.

10 & 9. SARMIS and birney's weekenders - the NC North duo that can't be split. Chugging along similar path as previous seasons. Wins will come, but a few winnable games dropped early make it a difficult path to the postseason.

Scramble:
8. RRR - will be underdogs in 4 more games with 3 losses so far. 9-7 or 10-6 feels just short of the playoffs. But, if the surprises keep coming they can make some noise.

7. Osler Rotties - with those wages this team intends to win now. 4-2 with an early win vs KAFakofers puts them currently in the field of 6. However, only 4 games remain as heavy favorites and 6 as 50/50 matchups. I'll say they split those 6 and finish 11-5, but just miss out on PD. It really is shaping up to be a tight battle for places 7-3, though.

6. KAFakofers - 3-2 with 5 games as heavy favorites, 5 vs NC playoff hopefuls, and Jinonice remaining. My pick as most entertaining team last season: I see no reason to veer away from picking them for that title again this season. This team could finish anywhere from 14-2 and 8-8. I'll split the difference and say 11-5, with PD getting them in.
KAFakofers = entertaining,
postseason = entertaining,
KAFakofers + postseason = something really cool that I haven't even heard of before.

5 - Home Malones - currently undefeated but have a rocky schedule ahead. 4 games against divisional playoff contenders remain, as well as Paxtang and Burnaby. 6 losses and missing the playoffs could happen quickly before any surprises popping up. Inside track right now on division, but too many potential losses remain to predict a bye or place further on the list.

Likely, but one misstep away from a different story:
4. Berinsfield Hornets - sitting at 5-1 just like #3. So I'll discuss them together...

3. Burnaby Bruisers. Both Hornets and Brusiers have established rosters ready to compete. Both have managers who know how to win. A few surprises could bump one out and bring up a third NC West team. But, history says both will enter the postseason. However, Hornets have a more difficult remaining schedule in my opinion as well as a penchant for dodgy food, so I'll give the divisional edge to Burnaby and Hornets as a wild card.

Inevitable:
1 & 2. Midnight Marauders and Paxtang Black Panthers - no reason to see either dropping the division. Only question seems to be whether both get the wins needed to secure byes. #1 seed seems destined to be determined by the game 15 clash between the two.

nice write up mate

i agree the Hornets and Bruisers are very close and the return match will be crucial.

Pity about all the bot teams, but hopefully we can keep the community going in the Monarchs league and get some new managers.

Game of the week

Home Malones vs Paxtang Black Panthers

Both teams are 7-0 and will be a great contest between 2 teams trying to be top dog.

Kamil Shareef, QB for the Black Panthers will be a challenge for the Home Malones defense as he has over 2,000 pass yards this season. Uffe Jensen, QB for the Home Malones only has 886 yards.

Les Huffman the star RB for the Black Panthers has 631 yards, whereas the most run yards for the Home Malones is wide receiver Davis Coons.

On defense I think the Black Panthers have the edge, they include the impressive Pero Quint and Gjore Pejcic on the D Line and Mervin Youngblood and Kim Gwak at the linebacker position.

The numbers suggest that the Home Malones will win this, but I will go with the Black Panthers as they have the star players in the crucial places to make the difference.
