I set the energy level at 90% so that my subs would come in and play more often. When I checked my players energy levels where down to 82 and a few in the upper 70s and none of my subs played at all. Is this part of the program not working or did I set it up wrong?

Check the depth chart first and make sure you didn't had anybody marked in the box as a first string (because if you did, the only way for that player to not play is if he gets injured during the game). Second, in the game settings make sure that here "How do you want to handle substitutions?" you had checked "Based on Fitness / Energy only". |

Hello! where it is established how to handle substitutions? For game settings go to Games -> Games and click the "Set" button for your next game. For Depth Chart go to Team -> Depth Chart |

Hello! where it is established how to handle substitutions? In the manual under "Depth Chart" it has all the info, including: "If you tick the "first string player" tick-box, this player will be preferred by the engine, no matter what else you set for substitutions in your depth chart or match-settings. If more than one player has the settings active, the engine will pick the first-string player having the highest in-game energy. The only chance for a substitution by using non-first-stringers is then if the first-string-players gets injured." |

And a very important thing taking into note is that if you click the box for 2 players on the same position (example 2 WR), the younger one will eventually get picked by the system because he will have more in-game energy and he will be the first option WR for mostly the rest of the game, starting with the 2nd quarter (or even in the end of the 1st quarter). |

It also depends upon their Physical Condition because higher Physical Condition positively effects in-game energy so younger player but worse PC, it depends. |

Yes, of course, but PC will go down faster for older guys in the game also. It depends on the difference of PC between players, but at some point the result will be the same. So, if you want to play one particular player as the WR/L and another one at WR/R, click the thick box in the depth chart for the first option WR (and he will be the the WR/L) and set 70% fitness in the game setting and it will be very hard for the 2nd option WR to get that low value and he will play mostly all game as the WR/R. But that is just one opinion. |
