Excellent write up as always, Jack! I agree with your assessments all around, particularly my 7-9 finish, unless I can manage a surprise win somewhere in the last half of the season. 8-8 is absolute BEST case scenario for me this season unfortunately

Nail biting and heart attack were the order of the day in this game. My team was the lucky winner of the match. I wish you all the best and good luck for the rest of the season. Maybe we'll see each other again this season.

Really entertaining match in the supercup today! It could've been expected based on the ELO comparison (Steelers rank 125, ORO boys 126), but our team is known for underperformance...
Not this time, though! The first half was thoroughly dominated by Mülheimers, but the score was still open after 30 minutes, thanks in large part to a couple of timely interception returns by Snappers. 6:0 at the half time for the guests. Both teams missed one field goals each, but Steelers' Davis made good on the pair of chances, too. From the very beginning of the second half Dragons League team seemed to have suddenly lost their energy. In the 3rd quarter it was suddenly hosts who dominated! Ironically (or sarcastically, from our point of view), it was then when the Steelers increased their lead by making first TD of the game  . But it was ORO's quarter, completely, for the rest of this quarter, and we were very quickly back to trailing by only 6 points. Based on this sudden change of the fortune, and a 1TD missing to our opponents, I started feeling hope, that it won't be simply the best ORO performance this season, but may be a win, too!
Well... The 4th seemed to confirm my expectations. It was 5 minutes into the final, when we scored TD and found ourselves winning by 1! A minute later our hopes were crushed by a 68yds(!) pass by the guests and it was again 6 points difference to our dreams-come-true result. What's more, that TD sparkled the renewed interest of Steelers in actually winning that match. Back to their total domination and a comfortable 27:14 with less than 6 minutes to play. It's over, I thought. Now they will crush us. Uh-oh, not this time, not ;-) . Again, Snappers turn to take over the field. New down followed a new down, and with just 2 minutes to go - another TD and it's just a pity the score is 27:21 with too little time to take advantage of being a better team at the moment... But wait... they don't give up...! 44 yards pass... Still a chance for the long pass to finish the day on the winning side...! It was a close call... but no. :-D Anyway, I am totally amazed, finally, with how we played. Congrats to the winners - it will likely guarantee Steelers the spot in the SC playoffs, and eliminates our team. But it was a match really loaded with emotions, at least for me. Which is easy to tell, from the number of lines this pot has taken
