Tickets also allready booked for Championship game in Gelsenkirchen. Auf Schalke. Hope we reach the final.
Otherwise, hopefully an exciting game.

Is anyone watching this? I've never seen a 2-point safety interception like this before.

To be more precise, it was a penalty against the Vikings in their own end zone and a safety according to the (ELF) rule. Therefore, the interception is not valid.

It was supposed to be an exciting final for the championship in the European League of Football, but ...

The Vienna Vikings (Champion 2022) had finished the regular season with 12 - 0. They were the only team to make it into the playoffs without losing. In the semifinals, the Paris Musketeers were sent home with a 47 - 31.

Rhein Fire (Champion 2023) had finished the regular season with 11 - 1. Since Stuttgart Surge had also finished the season with 11 - 1, but had the better TDP difference, Fire had to compete in the wildcard round as the worst division winner. They won 40 - 10 against the Madrid Braovs without any problems. In the semifinals they faced the Stuttgart Surge. And this game was so exciting and would have been worthy of a final. After being 10 - 20 behind in the last quarter, they managed to equalize shortly before the end of the 4Q. Fire was able to end Surge's first attack with an interception in overtime and score a TD themselves.

Everything was set for an exciting final. The undefeated Vikings met Fire in front of over 41,000 spectators in the "Auf Schalke" arena in Gelsenkirchen. And what do the experts always say when there are two equally strong opponents: the team that makes fewer mistakes is likely to have the advantage. That's how it turned out, at least if I counted correctly, there were three fumbles and one interception from the Vikings compared to one interception from Fire. With the halftime score 30 - 13 for Fire, the game was more or less over. In the end, Fire was the winner with 51 - 20.

Rhein Fire made history. The team is the first two-time champion of the ELF. And also the first back-to-back champion.

Dortmund fans can be pretty silly sometimes. A friend of mine, also a Dortmund fan, had to fill up his car on a long journey. When he saw that it was an Aral petrol station (blue in colour), he didn't want to fill up there and risk being left on the motorway without petrol.

But I think some Schalke fans are just as weird.

Ok I may be crazy as a Dortmund fan, but the refueling thing goes too far for me too...I also hate the color blue and try to avoid it in life, but if I have to refuel, then I definitely take the cheapest gas station and I don't care which company it is from
