Silver's HC Vea Tahitu'a Press Conference on loss against the North Sea Jarls, Chad Thurman's prime, TE Coach Zacarías Marcos Retirement, & more.
Reporter: Thanks (Vea) for coming out tonight for a Press (Conference) Vea: No problem, what are we talking about first? Reporter: What are your thoughts on the recent loss to the Jarls? Vea: Y'know, it was kind of expected (for the loss), and i'm grateful to play against them (North Sea Jarls), The coach (Rasim Sapp) has his guys (Players) doing very well, The QB (Olav Haraldsen) has really well reads, and of course the ownership (gp-Rurik) is really well too, before I joined as HC for the Silvers, I always eyed on the Jarls as a potential choice. The main reason we lost was because of our playbook, it wasn't well, especially in the 4th (Quarter) where our backup-now-starter Ricard (Bruton) threw so much picks in that one, kind of made me feel bad about benching Sandor (Horvath). But we gotta remind ourselves that we can't stand up and fight because of our kneecaps, but we stand up and fight with courage and determination, and that is shared by everyone in the locker room, we are just waiting to use it. Reporter: Let's talk about Chad Vea: Oh boy *laughs* Reporter: Chad has gotten to a slow start this season, doing more poorly than the last when you guys were back in fire (league), what is your take on that? Vea: Yeah our owner (0verpowerd) gets rammed on that alot, and it's because Thurman is getting older and his teammates are getting better, and I really don't see Thurman struggling as a problem right now, and I know our LB coach (Kay-Uwe Kuntz) does his best to make every LB he gets to coach the best, like sophomore player Rushi (Sandeep) and even the guy from YA (Jared Watkins). You just gotta give Thurman time to punch, because when you don't give the guy a chance, you never know what could've happened. Reporter: Ok now we go onto the TE coach Zacarías Marcos retirement. Vea: I really think he deserves it, from a guy who has coached all of his life until he is 63 I really think he deserves the best retirement he could have. Now, I really am worried about the Rookie TE (Nicky Peterson) who will have to learn from 2 different coaches in 2 seasons because then he will have to learn something that he is not used to, and that really stinks. However I am really happy for Zacarías Marcos and I wish the best for him Reporter: Ok, anything else you want to say? Vea: Nothing much really, I just want to let fans know that our main goal is to be better than the season before, and last season we were 5-11, so I am really hoping that we can live up to that. |
