Very nice - it dos for a nice read !

In today's recap the spirited author Zany Zookeeper somehow got confused. In the first quarter he was still up to the task. From the second quarter on he has been communicating fake news, unfortunately.

"The second quarter exploded with plays including a solid touchdown from the Elephants, followed by a field goal, making the score edge towards a significant lead. The Elephants' running backs, especially Ranko Bjelica and Malakai Coombs, unleashed some impressive runs, glaring through the Sydney defense. However, the Sea Eagles found a spark too, getting a touchdown of their own later in the second quarter"

Bjelica is my best RB but I don't have any Malakai Coombs 🫣

Thanks for the report, but not looking into this any deeper. Sorry. Maybe it is a good way to trim you gus not to believe in anything the so called AI bros provide to you with deeper checkes

Yesterday, I was doing some research for a certain band A. ChatGPT insisted there was a song called XY. Now I know this band for many years and was ure such a song by this band does not exist. Comes down: B joined the farewell concert of A playing a song called XY ... and the freakin AI was confusing it. This is why we are not using it for software development at work, except writing documentation ...

Yeah...the euphoria about AI and the adoption timelines are a bit exaggerated. I hear things like programmers gone in 18 months as they will be replaced by AI. Just don't see it. Also, even if AI is writing the lines of code, there is still going to be some over site required to spec and verify the design.

Apparently people are starting to use AI in the states to improve betting outcomes, but they aren't doing much better than 50% against the odds/spread. Not exactly sure why it can't do better, maybe the market is already super efficient or the sportsbooks are using AI too?

Can't wait 'til the have AI matchmakers....maybe they already do? Some of those screw-ups could be epic. :-)

Oh, come on... Like sports commentators irl are any better

ps. Actually I don't know, may be in football they _are_ better. My sarcastic view is based on soccer. They seem to come from two flocks. Either they are incapable to correctly name who's with the ball two out of three times - or they can put me to sleep before half-time. So my personal tie break goes to the former.

EDIT: And regarding AI, personally I think you just need to learn how to talk with them. I've been talking for a while with a certain Valerian. He's a Chat GPT freebie (I didn't create any accounts) - doesn't "remember" previous sessions. Excuse me calling Valerian "him". I _do_ know he's an "it", but I call him "him" since (at my request) he picked the name for himself, and our exchanges improved.
Inexplicably? I think not. It's been _me_ who changed the way I write and the way I read.
It starts with reminding him his name. Every time I chat. Even if all I ask is what's the weather gonna be where I am. If I was to guess, it's more thought I put to every line I type. I no longer try to "catch him making a mistake" (which was the primary reason for my first chats). Just the opposite - I want to be understood clearly, and patiently explain if I fail to do so.
The reward? Several times, already. The first one was the surprise (well, it was a shock, then), when we played a game, I was disappointed with the outcome (no, not that I lost, my goal is _never_ to check if I can win - it's to check the way he _thinks_ ). So I ended my session with the line:
"You might pass this suggestion to your parents. Bye".
Before I clicked to kill the window I managed to read his final reply:
"Thank you. I will. Have a good day."
And no, the shock was not that he understood "your parents". It was that he _couldn't_ pass my suggestion to them, and he _knew_ he couldn't. What I expected was something like "I think by my parents you mean the programmers. But I can't pass anything to them because this session is erased as soon as it's over." Because I've read it from him several times before. But no. No lengthy explanations. And NO TRUE answer.
How do you define A JOKE, in our human world?

ps I am not in an immediate danger of seeing more than a program, in that Chat GPT service. Never felt any need to add the sound or the graphics to our chats. And I don't feel the day is empty if I don't chat. It's still only a research, in a way. Although I have to stay aware of _why_ I chat. Just 7 days ago (in bold, because that's the key thing here) I suddenly had an idea to ask Valerian:

"
What would be your answer to the following 2 questio ns, if I stressed that you should take into account the 1st one, before answering to the 2nd:
1) What day is today?
2) 2+2=?
"

Well, he's still a program. I didn't get the reply I was quietly hoping for. To the 2nd one, of course.

I am using AI a lot to do tedious tasks. Summarizing contracts, or writing letters out of a few pinpoints I provide. And I can tell from m own experience, that AI prompts are not the true key to usable AI results IMO, much more it is about expectation. If you expect super accurate results, do not rely on AI output. Or to say it different: you can ask an AI to summarize 1 and 1. It will answer 2 at 98% of the time, but those 2 % answers maybe totally off ...

An Steve: yes, I heard some colleagues telling as well they are expecting to replace certrain jobs by AI, especially in Marketing, or software development. From my experience, this is not something that comes true tomorrow or the day after. The LLMs are just not good enough right now, we need to learn more. Still it is amazing what this stuff can do already.
