Flame went BOT ![]() Bleakardor maybe you should move up here next season if Kirby is still here. it would be an interesting division with IONS and you! Geez! I wish he had stuck around. I moved to the West so he would have a legitimate shot at a WC spot in the playoffs this season. I also thought he was doing very well and becoming very competitive. It's a shame. I hate losing good players. |

Great game Braska!
I'm surprised I made it out of that one with a 2 point victory, it was really close. |

Just checking in to make sure people don't forget about me. Going the long road to turn over my initial squad with YA. Instead of using the transfer market. Figure the slow way will allow me to pocket money to pivot if I take a misstep. Will be another season or 5 before I can make any noise but still trying to ruffle some feathers on the way up.
Running a very basic custom playbook for now, but expect I need a lot of work there before my team is ready to compete. Any tips, ideas, or instruction would be appreciated. Last edited on 2025-04-24 19:19:43 by gccsteel |

Just checking in to make sure people don't forget about me. No way. I am looking forward to actually playing a human! This is probably going to be an uphill battle for you on Tuesday, but you are developing the team right. Building through the YA is the way to go. You will have ample cash when you hit Elite. Hang in there! You asked for tips. This may be a dumb question, but did you run through Jack's manual? |

Yes, sir. I've read it a handful of times. Probably due for another read soon to refresh or pick up things I've missed. I think he was a little light on the playbook stuff. Seems to me you are mostly trying to catch the opponent in a run or pass situation and then do the opposite. And opposite on defense. Formations don't really matter as long as you have the personnel to run it (OLBs cover just as well as CB with same speed, etc.) with the exception of 1 safety formations getting burned deep on long passes more frequently. So really just a paper & rock game minus the scissors so long as you are playing meta formations. But any tricks to scout or roster construction to make gameplanning easier is welcome. |

Right now, your roster is the biggest obstacle you have to success. Eventually though, when your roster matures, your playbook will help to set you apart. There are some managers in this game that it doesn't matter what their roster looks like, they will hand you your tail on a platter. I am not one of those. I need good rosters. gccsteel wrote:
But any tricks to scout or roster construction to make gameplanning easier is welcome. This is going to sound like avoidance, but this is my two cents and it helped me out a lot when I started. Spend some money on scouting and check out a few of the best clubs in the game. First, check out their coaches for free, so you have an idea of the positions they prefer to put their points into. It impacts player training points. When you look at the players, be sure to see what the best in the game really think about TW and INT at every postion and contrast that with Jack's advice. Take note of player traits they tend to gravitate toward in certain positions and the skill levels of their players coming out of the academy. There will be some similarities that you can use as a guide. Make note of their starter's skills at various positions and figure out how long it would take you to train the same person with your staff. You don't have to mimic their coaching staff and hire elite coaches just yet, but adjust your training according to what you have going on with your staff currently. Use this information as a jumping off point for your team's development and you will eventually start integrating your own strategies based on your experiences and observations. On gameplanning, there are all kinds of things you could do, but data is what you need and the data needs to be relative to your roster for league and SC play. So just play as many competitive games as possible and try and learn as much as you can from the experiences. The engine is a little different, but playing friendly cups in power mode did wonders for my gameplanning and playbook development. Power mode takes the roster completely out of the equation. Good luck man. Your team has improved since I last played you. Loved that bomb today! ![]() |

Great information. Thanks! I especially like the idea of powercups that even the playing field. Not to give too much away, but I'm generally playing 34 when guessing pass and 44 when guessing run. And then in redzone dropping down to 53 run and 44 pass. Mostly so it is easier for me to evaluate game situations to see what my playbook called for and whether it was right/wrong and how it worked. And not seeing much difference between AVG yards for either which makes me believe my personnel is too big of an issue to play effectively. Established teams are getting what they want regardless.
