Due to another thread discussion I would like to suggest a new player trait. The goal is to make just a few players capable to play in more than one role (excluding special teams). There it is:
Versatile mind This player is able to adapt quickly to various roles on the field. When playing out of position, the usual penalties for performance reduction are greatly reduced. |

Would you extend your idea, Linkleo?
- - Jack of _all_ pads (excluding special teams)? - - A few/just one, picked randomly? - - based on IRL similar roles? (eg "DB", "RB") |

(eg "DB", "RB") I am quite sure that special teams have no OOP penalty. If so, there is no need to include it in the description. I have not understood your second question. If it is about the "rarity" of the trait, I must say I have no idea. Pete knows the probability of such skills better than anyone. I do not think it should apply as IRL with "positional groups". Simply reduce the OOP penalty despite the position played in (2, 3 or more different positions). |

In my opinion; I feel there should be specific position synergy; like similar areas of the field instead of an umbrella trait.
CB/SF WR/TE RB/FB So on and so forth. Last edited on 2025-05-08 18:05:51 by gp-Rurik |

I disagree, The very rare 2 position player trait seems the way to go. Why would I even keep a fullback on my roster or a tight end ? More likely an O Linemen would play tight end. Seems to me this is just a way to have fewer highly paid players on the roster removing it farther from a simulation. These positions body types are very different, imagine a T. Hill or J. Edelman as tightend ? There's reason these positions exist & it's not because there interchangeable but because they require very different body types & positional skills. I wouldn't like to see this change at all. Last edited on 2025-05-09 01:00:37 by 4 Kings |
