Only the keenest of analysts could have foreseen the result of our game against the turigtians esports club, but that's why we're all the happier:
For the second time this season in the second game against a human competitor we came out on top. The Defense is gritty, and the Offense just does enough. But for the next game it might be getting a lot tougher to cash in on that formula, as we meet the next expertly led team on Tuesday. The Gilets Jaunés celebrate their 10th anniversary season, and like they did to celebrate our anniversary in S58 we will now join in on the fun. We have that game back then stuffed away as a sweet memory that put a button on 10 seasons in RZA. Sadly for the Yellowjackets their Kicker did come more in the mood to give than to take, missing crucial field goals in the 4th quarter, so the SEA LIONS came up with a narrow win. The upcoming encounter won't be easy, too, as their team is tough and the manager a clever one. They do have to come to us, though. Another win for the SEA LIONS would force the front office to really think about the second half of the season, it might be a double edged win. So laying low and continuing the path taken should be the right choice... But facing off with such a prominent opponent at home makes that special itch come up again... ... and they still have that Kicker.  |

With 6 games to go the HAMBURG SEA LIONS did another big step towards a hopefully successful future for the franchise: After scanning the market for the last months they found the successor to Headcoach Vashita Neelam. While not being in a hurry to make a change at this position, as Neelam probably still had 1 or 2 years of good coaching in him, the front office decided to go with the young blood as the opportunity arose, and made 38yo Chon Tan the man in charge.
He will have his hands full the next few weeks to get to know the team, all the while bringing this first rebuild season to an end. There are still 3 games against human managers to be played in the league, and in the Supercup the HAMBURG SEA LIONS even have to go against high quality opponents in every of the last 4 games. While already having won 9 Supercup-games, which should be enough to go to the postseason in that competition, it’ll be interesting to see how much the new set of players have grown over the last few weeks. It won’t be all too surprising to see them struggle, though… it is a very young defense that we have. As for the league the upcoming games against the Budapest Wolves and our second encounter with the Godesberg Longhorns will show what to expect once the postseason comes… but we’ll see then.
