Playoff Picture for the NC
Welcome to the midpoint of the season. These seven teams are out. All of these squads will get better: (0-8) Downriver Seals- This offense has put up only 50 points this season. Really Young (21.8) (1-7) Riga Smokers- Really young (22.3) team. (1-7) North Sea Jarls- I am feeling bad for the old man from the sea. Let's go GP! (2-6) Minnesota Silvers – Expectations got out of hand for last seasons playoff contender. (2-6 Kaunas Red Onions – They will get better. Really young (22.2) team. (3-5) dERBENT CONVICTS - I wouldn't want to play in the South against those other 3 teams. (3-5) Hamburg Baltic Dogs - Bottom ranked pass Defense sank the Dogs. So you say we have a chance? (4-4) Minnesota Minotaurs. The Minotaurs could cause chaos with a relatively easy out of division schedule and five key games in the division. A close, one point loss to Vancouver earlier showed this team can cause trouble. But they have to run the table to have a shot at the playoffs. Games of note: Weasel Traders 2x, Vancouver Corsairs NC North (8-0) St. Pauli Packers have dominated the NC North. This team is in. It's the upcoming tour of the fearsome NC South that will determine the Packers playoff seeding. Games of note: Glasgow Tigers, Northern Storm , Manta Rays. NC East Only the division winner is making the playoffs here. Four losses is too much for the wildcard this year. How both teams deal with the Sailors could be the difference. Weakness in the NC South race could open up a wildcard spot for the East. (6-2) Copenhagen Chargers Games of note: Devon Warriors,Weasel Traders, Costanta Sailors, Sheffield Wednesday (6-3) Sheffield Wednesday Games of note: Northern Storm, Copenhagen Chargers, Constanta Sailors. NC South What a Division this is! Last weeks win by the Manta Rays over the Tigers really shook things up and gave hope to the rest of the NC that the road to the Elite League may not go through Glasgow. This division is still wide open and the St. Pauli Packers will have a say playing each team. So this is what is going to happen, The Tigers still win the division with their large PD advantage and only 1 division game left. The Storm and Rays should battle for the last wildcard spot. This will be an incredible race to watch. (8-1) Glasgow Tigers Games of note: St. Pauli Packers, Michigan Weasel Traders, Northern Storm (7-1) Northern Storm Games of note: Sheffield Wednesday, Manta Rays 2x, St. Pauli Packers, Glasgow Tigers (7-1) Manta Rays games of note: Black Knights, St. Pauli Packers, Northern Storm 2x NC West Both of these teams should make the playoffs (8-0) Michigan Weasel Traders. The Traders are in the drivers seat for now but five tough games down the stretch will make this interesting. Losing more than 3 would be disastrous. Games of Note. Copenhagen Chargers, Glasgow Tigers, Vancouver Corsairs, Minnesota Minotaurs 2x (7-1) The Vancouver Corsairs are making the playoffs as either the Division winner at (15-1)or in a loss to MWT as the #1 Wildcard at (14-2).
