Sure, a 50/50 guy could be used on other spots, but he is not wasted on OL.
A FB, sure also possible to train into (then footwork is wasted at that position), depends from my point of view on a) is there a quality FB instead available, if he stays at OL? b) is there a quailty OL available, if he is switched to FB? It's hard to find really strong guys, easier to find fast guys, so my take would be, better having a quick OL than a great FB, but then a weaker OL. |

I'm not an expert at all, but still can't understand if i'm missing something in evaluating players. I'm pick #26 at draft, and i got my 1st overall choice. He's a 19yo OL. 50 strenght 35.3 speed (uncapped). 44.8 intelligence, 43.7 teamwork. 31.8 blocking, 26.7 positioning, 23.7 footwork, 17.6 vision. Hard to move special trait. To me, he's almost perfect (a bit low agility, 14.5, but it will be fixed for middle season). I can assure there weren't 50-50 on draft (neither 50-45, especially 18yo now 19). So, there's a reason why this nice guy was still unpicked? Again on this guy... Being OL, i didn't care much about his speed, as long as i had other skills to work on. But maybe i should had... After leveling up agility and footwork to positioning level, so wage staying the same, i worked on speed. Now he's 43.x, and still missing the yellow mark. I know about the penalty, but a 50-50 (or 50-49.8) wouldn't be a waste for an OL? Should i take the penalty (i'm not going over a conference semifinal anyway) and make him a FB, a weak spot in my team by the way? It's a waste if you ask me. With those physicals he should be a easy DE or even LB because he gas good inteligence. This is why you should train physicals first and them decide what to do. A couple of seasons ago i had a similar case with a 19 years OL with 50 strength. Speed was 30 something and after some trainings surprise surprise 50 at Speed to. Sold him for 60+M. His 5* talent helped that sale to. |

OL, strenght 50, blocking 32, stone wall... it all seemed one way and 14.5 agility seemed the first thing to work on. Lesson learned. Anyway (answering to Jack) my offensive line is quite good (as it could be at my level) with 4 other guys at 50 strenght while i've bad FBs. I've to think about it.
