Ive never scouted an opposition in my life. Maybe i should ![]() In the early stages of the HAMBURG SEA LIONS franchise I scouted maniacally, filling pages and pages with tally sheets, checking every play from five different games by the opponent leading up to the match-up I played them in. I like to think that we won WORLD BOWL I in our second season because of that… although Melittlemen was coming off of an HR-Department-mishap during the previous roll-over, so he likely fielded a lesser team than ours back then. I had just opened the playbook at the beginning of that season and was frantically trying to understand things. Radu, I must say, was a tremendous help with that… and studying the game while setting up multiple playbooks for different opponents sure helped to get a grip on how this game works ![]() Last edited on 2025-09-18 19:32:28 by Chrill |

Ive tried to put in trick plays and such. But if i scouted you now, id have no idea how to counter you. I dont follow the NFL religiously - enjoy watching the games but my knowledge on it is low. More of a football fan. Hence the name of my club ![]() |

I pride myself to have it exactly this way, though, and since playing in the Elite I have given up on these exercises altogether. I tried in the early seasons of our tenure to come up with something special for each opponent, but at that stage it’s almost impossible to find holes to exploit. The most sinister thing with long tenured and experienced managers up there, though, is the fact that you invest time over time into scouting them… and then they do the exact opposite of what you’ve found. This happening to us against the Diorite Lions was probably the point where I stopped scouting altogether. butchpt6 wrote:

Since we are on the subject consider that some managers who have supporter acount have 10 playbook slots open.
Being that way we can have 2,3, 4 or 10 different playbooks for offense which makes it even more harder to scout because we switch it up every game. Besides that there are other managers who have random plays in their playbook which makes it even more harder. The trick is to check more than 3-4 games and try to find if that manager have certain tendancies of using a formation in a certain time frame or quarter or 3rd and short and so on. All this proces requires time to study, for some teams 10 minutes, for others maybe 1 hour. That is up to you. |
