News and Overreactions
St. Pauli Packers 33:27 Rome Torresina OMG what a match and oh what could have been. Toreesina was able to build a 27-10 lead going into Q4. Still up 27-20, Rome forces the Pack to punt with 2:18 left in the game. A quick fumble sends it to OT. Rome can't turn their first possession into points but St. Pauli can. Great game to you both The East/West Challenge continued in week 8 with the West coming back with 2 wins this week. Bergen Bruisers 31:48 Gaylord Zaleaping Too many picks thrown for the Norwegians. Sheffield Wednesday 13:20 Minnesota Silver Foxes Inspired by their fearless leaders return from self-exile, The Foxes defense stepped up , holding the Owls to only 226 yards passing and 322 yards overall. Nice job MSF Short thoughts Hamsters 4 picks doom them against Canadian team 16:44. Glasgow Tiger defense holds Silverbacks to 245 yards. Look out for the Cincinnati Bungals, There is something oddly familiar there. |

Hey! Loyal readers! My Bad. You see here north of the 45th parallel it gets a little cold and a last minute trip to 84 degree (29 Celcius) Tampa, Florida was a really good idea. Really cheap and I had a bye week anyway. I saw that the SDMOTW got screwed up without me. Sorry, My bye week friendly against the Bungals was NOT SDMOTW material. On to the games,
Gonna Be a Game All are division rivalry games and SDMOTW candidates.
Bergen Bruisers @ Sheffield Wednesday Round 1 went to Bergen but these two are tied in the East at 5-3. Bergens losses are well explained (Rays/Exiles/Zaleaping) but the same can't be said for Wednesday with the recent loss to The Silver Foxes of all teams. Devon Warriors @ Terrifying Hamsters The have split this series for three straight years and a playoff wildcard spot is the only chance thanks to the Glasgow Kitty Kats. First meeting this year both with playoff hopes. Northern Storm @ dERBENT CONVICTS The Storm eked out a 1 point win in week 4. Now the CONVICTS host. Social Distance Runners @ Manta Rays Three weeks ago the Rays got their first loss from the Runners 48-21. Both teams sit at 7-1 atop the South and this game matters. Gaylord Zaleaping @ Gaylord Shapiro's Men What the hell happened here? Be right back while I do some reading...Well this has certainly gone down hill quickly. Turns out the Canadiens have never heard of the 12 days of Christmas or entertained the thought that their division nemesis is based in the town of Gaylord, Michigan. Rather they believe that their kicker has been insulted. The least deserving of the matchups due to the silliness. Could be a game
Minnesota Minotaurs @ Minnesota Silver Foxes The Minnesota Twins Tussle. The Minotaurs won both games last year and the first game already this year. But if the Foxes show some of that magic they showed against the Owls? Rome Torressina @ Black Knights How the hell did Darsin and the Black Knights lose this game last year? Torresina is also 1-7 this year. Seattle Sea Reapers @ Riga Smokers The Smokers were given up for dead with an 0-6 start, but back to back wins against the Convicts and Blue Crabs may be a turnaround. Not Gonna be a Game
Constanta Sailors @ Versailles Victors Sailors cruise in this one. HAMBURG SEA LIONS @ Baltimore Blue Crabs HSL IS WAY TOO STRONG. Konjarnik HighTowers @ Downriver Seals 8-0 vs. 1-7 Nope London Silverbacks @ Fuenlabrada Falcons I wish vicmafraigar all the luck in the world with the Falcons, but you aren't winning this one yet. Rome Centurions @ Cincinnati Bungals Ditto for Bungals and his Cincinnati Bungals. All the luck in the world, still no hope. Wrexham Exiles @ PATAGONIA RAPTOS Wrexham is battling for the playoffs, the RAPTORS beat a team named Granite that we all have already forgotten about. |

So to make it fun (and silly, yes) we made up that overreaction: truth social post, change of name and logo for one game, etc :-) |

Let's go week 9
None of the not going to be games, were.
The same can be said about the might be a games
Minnesota Minotaurs lose 24:27 to the Silver Foxes. Only close due to a missed 19 yard Silver Fox FG and an ensuing 80 pass play with under a minute to play. The Silver Fox defense shut the Minotaurs down on third down. 0 for 6 Rome Torresina 32:20 Black Knights Wow! For many reasons. First, once Torresina punt returner took one 69 yards to the house it was over. Rome built the lead to 23:3 at half and didn't look back Second, the Black Knight punter has to win a hustle award. 7:47 Elías Lozano (P) punts the ball from own 13 for 44, Kerry Stroud (KR/C) is returning the ball, tackled by Elías Lozano (P), this was a 6 yards return. The next play starts at 7:44! This guy punted the ball, ran down the field 40 yards and made the tackle in 3 seconds. This is the kinda guy I want on my team. Reapers 58:0 over Smokers. Oh my that was ugly. and speaking of ugly, There were two stinkers that I thought were going to be good. Devon Warriors 59:17 over the Terrifying Hamsters. This game was a runaway at 35:0 before the Hamsters were able to get on the board. Nice job Warriors Social Distance Runners 47:6 over Manta Rays. The Rays were held to only 214 total yards as they seemed to choose a run heavy attack to net 125 of those yards. SDR had no such offensive problems, putting up 566 total yards. Nothing dumber than asking if SDR Gonna Be a Game games that were
In order of increasing excitement Bergen Bruisers 21:44 loss to Sheffield Wednesday. Bergen was up in Q2 14:13 and then watched the Owls put up 24 unanswered points as they pulled away. Northern Storm 41:22 over dERBENT CONVICTS. Almost the same story here as the CONVICTS were within 2 points to start the fourth quarter. But then Storm MLB Severino Dupond picked the Convicts QB Bajazit Milankovic twice to seal it. Meanwhile, Storm QB Javier Alonso put up 481 passing yards on the day to offset his 2 picks. How he got MVP, I will never know. The Gaylord Zaleaping 30:17 over Gaylord Shapiro's hair club for Men. This one was a close one the whole way. The Canadiens are known for their passing game and did not dissapoint, choosing to pass 59 to running only 8 times. The only downside being the Zaleaping pick 6 on the second play of the game by LB Ernst-Dieter "The Thinker" Rodier. Good luck was also on the Zaleapings side when they went 3-3 on fourth down. Curiously, Gaylord Shapiro did not live up to the hype putting up only 5 points with a 33yd FG and the 2 extra points. Last edited on 2026-01-13 19:50:30 by Stabler12 |

Yes, our kicker NEVER did well when playing in Gaylord... and it seems neither against the new name! He gets blocked...

Week #11
Bye bye to the bye weeks. Everyone is going to be playing their 10th game. You know the drill so here goes: Gonna Be a Game:
Hamburg Sea Lions @ Social Distance Runners Almost moved this down a category, but I respect both teams too much. Manta Rays @ Northern Storm First of 2 matches means only one of these teams will be a wildcard. The other plays golf wildcard weekend. Rome Centvrions @ Rome Torresina Dead even teams with national pride on the line. Seems like the SDMOTW to me. Sheffield Wednesday @ Michipocoten Corsairs Both teams need to avoid the loss. SDMOTW Runner-up. lol like I have a vote. Might Be a Game:
Badalona Cheetahs @ Versailles Victors I'm always rooting for a first win. Get on with your Bad self, Badalona! dERBENT CONVICTS @ London Silverbacks The CONVICTS are the most confusing team in the league and the Silverbacks have shown weakness. Kojarnik HighTowers @ Bergen Bruisers Norwegians are fighting for their life. Minnesota Silver Foxes @ Devon Warriors I moved this one up a category only because of MSF recent strength. Riga Smokers @ Fuenlabrada Falcons If the Falcons are going to get one, this could be their shot, but I doubt it. St. Pauli Packers @ Seattle SeaRappers Games like this are why Seattle moved out of Texas. Not Going to Be a Game:
Baltimore Blue Crabs @ Wrexham Exiles Wrexham locked and loaded for playoffs. Crabs not going to get in the way. Black Knights @ Bungals Bungals are too young. Downriver Seals @ Gaylord Zaleaping 440 point ELO delta Minnesota Minotaurs @ Copenhagen Chargers The Bullmen are down but not that down. PATAGONIA RAPTORS @ Constanta Sailors 510point ELO delta Terrifying Hamster @ Glasgow Tigers You want Terrifying? Here's Glasgow. |

Thank you, but I wouldn’t have been mad if you did move us to „maybe“… there’s not much to make me believe we have a chance in this one. The Runners are better equipped on almost all positions, and I have never been able to decipher the genius behind Buzis playbook. Plus we’re playing on their turf. There'd have to go a lot wrong for them and a lot right for us to make it close. Last edited on 2026-01-14 21:28:53 by Chrill |
