Hi, I know I'm not exactly a rookie but I can't understand what's going on with my QB. He is continuously destroying my games by throwing interceptions. Yesterday, he destroyed a 17 points lead in the beginning in the 4th quarter with two interceptions in a row, 3 in the whole game. Same goes with my monday supercup game. He is among the most picked in Elite league, whereas I run the ball as often as I throw it. I never had that amount of interceptions after 11 games. He is slow, so I expected him to be sacked very often, which is not really the case, but I thought he could throw the ball properly.

There he is

Strength 46
Speed 41,5
Agility 50
Intelligence 49,8
Experience 4
Passing 44,4
Vision 44,3
Positioning 24,8
Strong arm

For me, except speed, it is good enough, but I have a C J Stroud against patriots quite often.

Thanks a lot if you have advices

I'm anything but a pro at this game.
Your QB looks good, but the question is how good are the other positions?
How good are the WR, TE, and RB?
It's not just the QB who has to be good, because if the WR is in the wrong position, it can easily result in an interception.
How good is the OL (my biggest problem in my team), because if the QB is under pressure, he can react impulsively and make bad throws.
And how good are the opponents who are pressuring the catcher?

In my opinion, there is no easy solution, but many components.

Just a random thought, but could a slow quarterback eventually miss passing options because he needs more time to throw? I mean, could he be missing the short receiving window of a wide receiver route and therefore get intercepted?

Or maybe you were simply facing very strong pass defenses?

I had a similar feeling about my quarterback two or three seasons ago. At the time, it looked like he was throwing interceptions constantly. That issue eventually resolved itself, although I honestly cannot say what exactly caused the change.

For the sake of science, here are my quarterback’s attributes:

Strength: 40.3
Speed: 40.3
Agility: 48.2
Positioning: 20.3
Footwork: 20.2
Vision: 41.1
Passing: 50
Intelligence: 50

For additional context, here are the interception numbers per season to give you a point of comparison:

Season | Interceptions
58 | 97
59 | 39
60 | 26
61 | 33
62 | 23
63 (ongoing) | 9

Looking at these values now, it seems that speed might not actually be the relevant factor here, at least based on how my quarterback compares overall.

Very valid points that I just overlooked.

Thanks for your replies!

My receiving squad has been better, but I have 2 4,5stars wr and 2 4 stars, and my TE are not that bad. Many of my interceptions are when targetting my best WR. My OL is good, I have an all star tackle, the others are 4,5 stars.

What you tell me about your QB is interesting, maybe mine lacks experience, even though I thought 4 stars was enough.

I have no answers about speed. I thought it has no effect on passing skills, only on avoiding sacks, but maybe that's not the cas.

Playbook also matters.

Try to look at which play your quarterback throws the most interceptions and try to see if you can fix that.

You said that your QB throws the most interceptions targeting your best receiver, so most likely that play in which that WR is apart of has it where he is doing a route in which he can get beaten to by a CB more easily or a route in which the QB can't throw the best on.

Just a suggestion to check your playbook for mistakes, that's all.
