Five Ways to Predict the Next Location

Given the sequence Spitzbergen – Shetland Islands – Bergen – Kraków, five different calculation methods can be applied to estimate the next location. Each method relies on distinct logic, ranging from geographical to statistical to sports-based reasoning.

1. The Baltic Calculation
The Baltic calculation uses directional navigation inspired by classical Baltic routes. Extending the bearing implied by the last two points (Bergen → Kraków), the trend moves southeast, projecting the next point toward the northern Aegean region. This method emphasizes a direct geographical path over exact coordinates.

2. The Mathematical Calculation
The mathematical method applies linear regression to the latitude and longitude of the four locations. This statistically minimizes error and produces a predicted point at approximately 40.4° N, 24.0° E, corresponding to northeastern Greece near Kavala or Thasos. It is precise and reproducible, independent of any physical or historical context.

3. The Average Calculation
This method calculates the mean displacement between points and projects one additional step. By smoothing extremes like Spitzbergen, it yields a conservative estimate slightly northwest of the regression result, again pointing to northern Greece or the southern Balkans.

4. The League Teams Calculation
This creative approach analyzes the geographical locations of other teams in the league to identify patterns. By examining the distribution of playoff and division-winning teams, the next location is predicted based on clustering trends in central Europe. This method reinforces the mathematical and average methods, placing the next location within the southern Balkans to northern Greece corridor.

5. The Great-Circle Projection
Using spherical geometry, this method calculates the shortest path over Earth’s surface through the given points. The great-circle projection confirms the southeast trend and aligns closely with the regression result, predicting a point in northern Greece, consistent with other approaches.

Conclusion
Despite differing assumptions, all five methods converge remarkably well. Northern Greece consistently emerges as the next location, demonstrating that the spatial trend is robust across both mathematical and creative approaches.

This is Hammer Sports Park, home of the HAMBURG SEA LIONS

Dormant, almost asleep in the cold of Hamburg on a February Friday night. Tomorrow that will be different. Tomorrow it will show it’s true form. A mighty fortress, stacked with fearsome and prideful warriors.

They derive their pride primarily from the fact that the HAMBURG SEA LIONS stadium has been impregnable for 15 consecutive home games. Yes, you’re reading this right: their winning streak at home is at 15

Over the course of now almost 2 seasons worth of games they scored 622 points while allowing only 231, which translates to an average score of 41:15. This season alone they allowed only 136 points in 7 home games, which are 19.4 per game… and no visiting team was able to score more than 28 on us since the streak started.

Tomorrow’s the last home game of this season, and the SEA LIONS are ready to keep their house clean… for a fresh start to the second round of the postseason. With that being said:

Welcome to Hammer Sports Park, Seattle Sea-Reapers

SEA DEVILS MATCH OF THE WEEK

On Saturday, the Minnesota Silver Foxes will watch one of the most respected players in league history step onto the field for the final time. When the game ends, Chad Thurman will retire, closing a career that was as unique as it was admired — not only by his own fans, but across the entire league.

Drafted in S54 as the 19th overall pick by the mystics, Thurman’s early career was quiet and unremarkable on paper. Limited playing time and modest production marked his first seasons, and few would have predicted what was still to come. But what Thurman lacked in early impact, he made up for with patience, discipline, and an unwavering work ethic.

Those who knew him from the beginning often point to one defining trait: he always stayed grounded. Even as a young backup, Thurman approached the game with professionalism and humility. He studied film relentlessly, supported teammates, and never complained about his role. While others chased attention, he focused on understanding the game.

Everything changed after his move to Minnesota. In S58, Thurman delivered one of the most surprising breakout seasons the league has ever seen. With over 100 tackles, nine interceptions, and six defensive touchdowns, he transformed from an overlooked linebacker into a defensive force. Quarterbacks quickly learned to respect his instincts and vision. The seasons that followed confirmed that this was no fluke. From S59 through S62, Thurman became the anchor of the Silver Foxes defense. He consistently produced interceptions, sacks, and momentum-shifting plays, often scoring at crucial moments. Yet despite the success, his attitude never changed. He remained approachable, respectful, and focused on the team above all else.

What made Chad Thurman special was not just his production, but how he played the game. He relied on intelligence, positioning, and anticipation rather than raw athleticism. His reputation as a "Sure Tackler” reflected his style perfectly: dependable, efficient, and relentless. When he met a ball carrier, the play was over.

As his career progressed and the physical peak slowly faded, Thurman adapted. His role shifted from explosive playmaker to steady leader, but his value remained undeniable. Younger players gravitated toward him, learning not just techniques, but how to carry themselves as professionals. Coaches trusted him implicitly, and fans trusted him completely.

Perhaps most remarkably, Chad Thurman became a fan favorite far beyond Minnesota. Even opposing supporters respected him for his fairness, his consistency, and his quiet sportsmanship. He never played dirty, never sought headlines, and never forgot where he came from.

When Thurman walks off the field on Saturday, he leaves behind more than statistics and highlights. He leaves behind a legacy of humility, perseverance, and respect. In a league often defined by noise and ego, Chad Thurman proved that staying grounded can still lead to greatness.

His career may be ending, but his example will endure — in Minnesota, in the Sea Devils Region, and in the hearts of fans across the whole world. Thank you, Chad!

Who knows, maybe he'll stay on for another season. The final decision regarding the end of his career is still pending.

Chad Thurman has announced at a recent press conference that S64 will be his last season, meaning that he will play for the Silver Foxes for one more season, after that, he is hanging up the cleats.

Quote from Chad "I respect people congratulating me on a career so great that I have pride in, but I still have some fuel left in my tank, but I think that tank will run empty after my final league game on May 2nd. I want to thank everyone who has supported me on my journey so far, and I will write my goodbyes when the time officially comes. For now though, I think I will be more of a mentor than a player, as younger generations will have to learn from me until I'm gone for good. "
