EXP influences ratings and I don't see where you mentioned exp. Str also influences ratings. EXP is 4* for both of them. Sure, the 1st has 3 STR points more. But the 2nd has 3-4 points more in everything else (POS, VIS, TACK, AGI). Hard to understand why he's rated less. Oh, well, I'll live with it ![]() Please be aware that the rating calculation is not public, but for sure also not very comlicated. Several values are somehow added, multiplicated or whatever and then translated into the rating star way. You can see, how simple the logic is, when you take a high rated player and look at the ratings he would have on other positions. A have a retiring DL, strong, fast, smart, high exp, quite high relevant skills, rated 4.5*. Fine. He rates 4.0* as QB, while his passing skills are at 12.5. Sure, all the other values put into a simple formular, like adding it all up, gives the guy a quite high score, even as QB, but he is no QB. Surprisingly the worst rating he has is as a K, 2.5*, which means, most of the DL skills do NOT count on the K skills and since his kicking is 8.5, he is bad. Please be also aware that 4* EXP is likely not equal 4* EXP on the other. The star mechanic is a visual presentation of a value range, so one player could have a value in EXP (in the database it's a number, like 40.5) higher or lower than the other, just not close to the next .5-value, either 3.5 or 4.5. And that would have an impact on the rating also. The INT diff is likely also a bigger factor, 50 to 39 is quite big. Overall, ratings are irrelevant for every calculation inside the game, they are just a simple visual representation of the quality of the player on that position and as seen in the example, not always a good one. |
