One major flaw the game has is, the predefined gameplan. That's not how football works. It works on the current situation.
The playbook and game settings are supposed to be the solution for that, but I'm sure everyone did see their team doing something in a game, you would not do, if you could s e l e c t the play on the field in that moment. But I also have no solution on that.

Would like to debate the term flaw ..

Flaw in the sense, that many do expect some sort of football simulation and the game on the field is of course an important part, but can't be simulated as it is in real live for a coach.

Never was the intention to offer that and the pedefined tactics are a mitigation to have some sort of reacting logic in the game strategy, but that does bring the managers only so far. In real live (as I was a real player and coach) we sometimes did even design plays during the game or just for the next play to execute something the playbook did not have. Maybe we had a bad playbook, but that option to react, was worth gold. And even just selecting a player best suited for the situation did of course help. Reacting on injuries, both sides, weather, individual form and so on, did help.
Here that's not possible, at least not to the last extend.

That's in some way a flaw.

Speaking about, this is the most complex simulator for american football.
You are talking about real life situations which i think, they are imposible to add.
It's exactly the same thing like having in the playbook a go for it at 4th and 1 and when you feel the game is going your way, you do it, but if your considering it's not going your way, you prefer a Punt to avoid a disaster since you couldn't get a first down in the last 2 possesions.

Really, these games are dice rolls. Complex, yes, but dice rolls after all.

I think that if we want RZA to increase its user base (without trying to reach HT numbers) we need to modify / tweak / simplify the dice roll.

We can say it in many ways (salary cap, money limitation, whatever,..) but I think it's the only way.

Yes, maybe some veterans of the game who lead the Elite will lose their enthusiasm and abandon us, but in return they will gain many more users who now don't even dare to try.

The risk of doing nothing, out of fear or uncertainty about what might happen, condemns us to becoming a -TOG--II (if we aren't already).

And as I always say, the game is not mine and I only propose ideas that I think would serve to improve it. And I could be wrong, without a doubt.

yeah there's too much of a gap between teams in RZA

Look I don't mean to intervene in this conversation but just as an example of how lopsided RZA can be at times (I understand but still) I'm up 63-0 at the end of the 1st in this SuperCup Match... I mean even mid-major CFB teams don't start off this bad against a Georgia, Alabama, Ohio St (or maybe Indiana now idk...)

BOTs are on purpose weak and unorganized.
Don't be insulted, but your team is quite new, still the players know what to do and they know where they play. Let's say you are like a Sun Belt Team, or a MAC team. You would still get your ass handed to you by the matured teams, in this compare then Alabama or Ohio State, but you know the game.
That opponent is more like a gang of people you can gather in a mall, put them in pads and force them to play. No skills, no strategy, no organisation, basic plays on both sides. What you would think would happen, if Coastal Carolina would play against such a team. Slaugther!
But you are right, there can be extreme results. Even between human teams. Because the skills far apart, because the losing team is also not organized, because it might use plays wrong, like pass mid or pass long plays, or because the math was on that day not in their favor. Happens.
Peter did try a lot of simulations with the engine, power mode (means all skills = 40), no power mode, hundreds of games between the same setups and then the calculations were tweaked to have something looking as football.
Is it perfect? No. Is it bad? No. I would say, it's very decend and better than some sims I did play or see.
well the BOT teams should be like that Sun Belt (also I'm not offended better than the mall team ey?) and I should be at like a Northwestern or Penn State did this year and then you guys in Elite are the Ohio States or Indiana; there shouldn't be a mall team on the hierarchy I mean what would happen if you played 242 Lunkas (the mall team) or Radu did??? i mean it just needs to be slightly more competitive not asking for the bots to win
