SEA DEVILS MATCH OF THE WEEK 13
DERBY DELLA CAPITALE - This term probably doesn’t need to be translated into English. Everyone immediately knows the translation, and everyone can feel that today (once again) we’re dealing with an emotion-filled SDMOTW. As the reigning city champion of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, I of course know how emotionally charged city derbies are. It will be no different here. Both teams play in different divisions, but they have faced each other every season since joining the Sea Devils empire (once even in the Supercup). Since both franchises are roughly the same age and always meet at a similar stage of development, their matchups are evenly balanced, with a record of 2–2. Did I just say “roughly the same age”? Well, the Centvrions are actually a few months older and therefore had a slight head start. Torresina have won the last two derbies and go into today’s game with a triple advantage (ELO, OVR, and home field). Tvollo must win today, otherwise their local rivals will establish themselves as the city’s dominant team, and the Centvrions will be seen for a long time as the underdog who might occasionally upset the giant. ![]() Source: https://i.postimg.cc/QNWhgDmF/3C729C2E-6BB3-4AF4-AB1D-AFB72F75A14D.png GLADIATORI ROMA: "On the occasion of the upcoming derby between the Centvrions and Torresina, I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the vitality of the American Football movement in the Capital. Seeing two local teams face off with such vigor is a testament to the health of our sport. Rome is a city fueled by passion and fratricidal rivalries; the excitement surrounding this matchup proves just how deeply the "TOG" is now rooted in the Roman sporting fabric. However, with all due respect to those taking the field today, we cannot overlook a significant chronological detail. We observe this derby with the benevolent eye of those who were already busy writing the opening chapters of this history while the first oval balls were just beginning to bounce among the Seven Hills. As we say here: "You’ve still got a lot of carbonara to eat..." |
