good point, however I'm just trying to disable it so I can cut wages of the rubbish players I signed and then get all the good players to contracts... Hi I have in the past, HR Dept close, until rollover is done and a restart that season.. MY worry for you is that you are looking at contract players that are poor on skills, you could train them, fire them, recontract the next season.. so say you gave a 2 year deal, that guy will be done and the season starts with needing a contract or lose them, if you have a 3 or 4 year contract - you can use the contract all for a one year button.. Me, I use the HR Dept for buying Free Agents and end of Season deals - hope that helps |

One way to get rid of players on contracts is to sell them on the TM. I see you are selling some players, so maybe you are already following this plan.

Maybe someone without HR-Department can do a test to verify something.
Here is the discription of the process for the experiment: - Go to a players page (best someone you would be willing to lose, or maybe you pull a youthy for that) and check on his wage and note it down, say 5000$. - press the fire button of the player, an extra window should come up, asking whether you really would like to fire the guy and it should inform of the extra fee for firing, if some is needed. For contracts it says:"If you cancel this contract you will have to pay additional $ 6615 now. The contract ends immediately after confirming this message" Note the money amount he asks for. And not the date you did hit the button. - press the cancel button on the extra window and the players stays on your roster and no harm done. Of course it's your decision, whether you do it or not. If done wrong, the player would be gone, if done right, nothing happens and you could give me the 3 informations and the rest I can calculate myself. Why this experiment? I can't remember, whether and if, what a player with regular season contracts (so no HR activated) asks for as compensation, if fired. On contract mode it seems to be roughly 70% of the remaining contract value. But the regular season contract players only have a contract for that season, adjusted on rollover, so maybe they ask for the same 70% of remaining, or something like coaches, 5 times of the wage. I just don't know. |

okay, so I did test this out....
Player 1 had expiring contract in Season 65, 16k weekly wages, 33 weeks (9 this season and 24 next) Total if he stayed: $528k He asked for: $372k I ran another test: Player 2 had expiring contract in Season 64, 36k weekly wages, 9 weeks left; Total if he stayed: $324k Amount he asked for: $216k So there clearly is a pattern here... What I will do is cancel all players contracts that expire THIS SEASON to save some $$$ and not pay them... AND I will NOT for the Season 65 and beyond guys.... So, still will have to order shutdown, but I may save several hundred thousand by using this method... thanks! |

Sure, but the realy motivation on my experiment is this: If a non-HR-player asks for same 70% remaining, there will be no difference fpr YOU to get rid of them if you switch back to non-HR compare to HR, if the players you want to get rid off are all on a 2 year contract. If they have longer ones, could be a benefit for you. |

Ill most definitely keep Gordon, the younger one, the older one I may keep a bit longer but when I find a better replacement (around 4 stars) I'll pair him with Arnold, the guy I bought from your team...
