Rome Centvrions 17 VS Maineville Maulers 38 EVEN BigAl turned the offense and defense up! Those scrimmages have paid off here in the playoffs. The Maulers put up 571 total yards to the Centvrions paltry 323. Further examination show that the Centvrion safetys let in 3 big td passes. I normally like my big Tdies in pairs but 3 is a whole new world. Maulers Advance! Our bet:
Second Round: Baltimore Blue Crabs vs Rome Centvrions This is the elimination game with the winner facing the Bungals in the semi-final and the loser out. Minnesota Silver Foxes vs Maineville Maulers These 2 face each other in the Semi-final. Winner plays the Bungals/Crabs/Centvrions winner for the coveted Spartan Invitational Challenge Trophy. Good luck to all in the next round Both games scheduled for Friday. |

I hope this attracts a few other teams for next season that might make a run at the playoffs but not necessarily be serious contenders. This adds a nice little twist to the friendly matches and who doesn't like a little extra competition???

Semi Final Game!
Maulers (+6) vs Silver Foxes The boys from Maineville have positively whupped up on the poor Foxes this year in the SIC. March 14 Maineville Maulers (+10) 28 Minnesota Silver Foxes 14 April 10 Maineville Maulers (+8)53 Minnesota Silver Foxes 13 Notice how that line has come down significantly as the Maulers have shown good form and have been rewarded with a a 62 point rise in ELO. Don't get me wrong the Foxes can play as they showed in demolishing the Blue Crabs. The offense is getting better as Overpowered diversifies the offensive attack. You look at the OVR and the Foxes should have the edge. They have a consistent 4-5 point edge in all categories except special teams. But, I'm taking the 6 points and the Maulers. Go Maulers! Last Chance Game Centvrions vs Blue Crabs EVEN These two were stunned to lose their round one games. But the season is not dead and both of these teams could pull off a 3 game winning streak to win it all. Crabs won the season matchup. March 3 Baltimore Blue Crabs(+3.5) 35 Rome Centvrions 31 I really see this on as a toss up. But since the Crabbies won the North, I have soured a bit in my fandom since its's harder to think of them as the underdog. Let's go Tvllo! Cook some Crab and pasta and get on with beating the Bungals on Saturday! |
