The play:

Lyron Jackson (OC) snaps the ball to Earle Woody (QB), hands off to Francis Frank (HB/C), this seems to be a run over the left end

Kyle Andrews (DE/L) breaks through, Josef Schneider (TE/R) blocks

Kyle Andrews (DE/L) brings Francis Frank (HB/C) down, nice tackle, forward progress: no gain (I-formation vs. 5-2)

So the DE/L is blocked on propably right side but also manages with his speed 28 and tackle 13 to tackle then the HB/C who tries to run with his 46 speed over the left end

This type of "break through - get blocked - but manages to tackle" is happening so often and i try to "vision" them how this would look like - seems my "vision" is very limited

well assuming Frank is the type of RB that likes to dance around the backfield, ignore his OL, and cut back into the the opposite DE... ugh Nevermind.... Cowboys fans are mad I made them immediately think about Felix Jones...

- Or a runner just cuts back.
- Also, many times teams simply don't block the backside DE, and he just races untouched to the right spot.
- Or there is a delayed handoff, like a draw, and the unblocked DE crushes it.
- Or the RB slips and the DE is the first one to touch him.

However, all that being said: I do agree a bit with Turtle, that it does seem to happen a lot. (Maybe it's a good thing - one way to offset the darkwing?)
