Also, I'm curious, do you guys think in general, that running to the left (or right flank) is overall more effective? Are you avoiding more DL's that way?

Is there any down side to this (unless the defense has superior OLBs compared to everwhere else on his defense)?

Bad darkwing offense

I know his players were better than mine but I hate such tactics. He allways play the same in every game I know it and can´t do anything. put my best DLiner on this side he run and my best OLB too.

The worst thing is, the SS didn´t learn that he allways run over the right end but because of the formation he stand one the other, my right side. So of course he had no chance for a tackle.

Again, I know that his players are better than my one. But such an offense shouldn´t win

So please let the defense learn or maybe like in the offense playbook a choice of the side left/right/center/all directions.

Erm, you used 4-3-4 all game.... you won't stop a good running team with that unless your DL can dominate.

Could you explain that to me maybe per pm.

My intension was: he plays allways over the right end. So I need no NT because he would never run over the middle. I am not sure about a 3 DL who blocks/tackles against each other maybe the DE in a 3-4 against the OG. so the DE´s can´t stop the wing offense. I want to have OLB if the DE´s can´t stop him so 5-2 was out. And at least I want to have a SS that can stop the run that´s why I choose the 4-3-4 instead of the 5-3-3 or 4-4-3.

Maybe I missunderstood how the engine works.

i think the 5 man dline match up better to stop the run. To make sure the outside lanes are covered i would use 3 LBs (5-3-3)

I think the run game is similar to RL where the individual battles at the line of scrimmage determine how successful the run play is. Not taking the RB into the mix, he still has to find the holes.

sure it is one on one. look in your game statistics. If you play against a 4 D-Line the OC has 0 blocks. so the one on one are OC - NT, OG - DT and OT-DE. Don´t know if it is the same für a 3 Men D-Line, but you can see this in the stats of a 5 or 4 men D-Line.

I used 3 LB to have my best on the left (his right) outside. Like I wrote, that´s why I choose the 4-3-4.

Why should I use a 5 D Line although I know he never runs over the center?

If you have a 5 man d line you give the OC something to worry about, instead of being a spare blocker for the offense.

spare blocker?

the center never blocks against a 4 D-Line.

Leonard Swenson OL 40 plays
blocks successful 0 not successful 0 pancakes 0.

And about what should the OC be worried? the center doesn´t matter because he run allways over the right end, so I don´t know which worries the OC should have or get. Sorry don´t really understand. If it is to much detail you can also explain it to me via pm. thx

i used the wrong term. blocker should be player. It makes sense to me to put 5 vs 5 when defending the run in any direction.

Although the stats say that the centre does nothing except snap the ball, i find that hard to believe. Admin could give some detals on this??

I ran some analyzes on the issue, and came to the following result / conclusion:

The described offense can cause strange results, if several circumstances are met. When I had a check on the defense intelligence, it seems the bonus the defense gets out of guessing the right move for the attack is a bit too slow in this special case. This means nothing else than we will introduce a changed setting on the next seasonrollover. As usual, we will run some tests on the test platform first, and after we finished this part of testing and adjusting, we will put it active for friendly games until season end.

Would like to add: we found another small glitch, depending on the speed of attackers versus cb. The calculated bonus is way too low for the defenders, the solution was added to the engine too, and the way for making this public is exactly the same as described in the chapter above.

I hope this will solve the situation completely.

Don't get me wrong: if a really strong offense is rushing outer left versus a weak defense, it will still work fine for the offense. The "fix" is only their to make it more equal on equal team strength.
