I go by the combined speed/strength in relation to age. If they are 16 years old then I want their combined physicals to be 58 or higher. If they are 17 then it is higher still, and so on. I take TW into account as a tiebreaker or if I see a high strength player that could develop to an oline or dline.

16 with a sum of physicals at 58? That includes speed, strength and agility?Because if only speed and strength are taken, 58 is very high.

Maybe that's why Sfniner buys plenty of Youth players on the TM ?...because the high physicals at 16 players are quite rare

That is just strength and speed. If it isn't there then i take the highest one.

It isn't so simple as that though. There are other things that I take into account...such as how many youths do I currently have in that age range....if I'm looking for an oline or dline I consider the TW more so...is the agility a lot more than typical?

I'm glad that I started this thread, there have been some very interesting replies so far (thanks for the great replies) .... but one further question now that follows on from the initial (i.e. what factors/what strategy for the initial youth pull)

What do you take into consideration with the youth player that you've just pulled as to his future ? i.e. is it mainly based upon attributes that were hidden before the pull (Intell,Talent) or do other factors have a heavy weighting (roster shortage at a certain position etc) or is it just a case of training until physically capped and then deciding if the player has a future/no future on your roster ??

Kind of the last one. I look at the skill set that is there and have a preliminary idea of where he would fit. I take into consideration what I might need in 3 or so seasons. In the end I do train until I get physical caps to help cement where he fits in or if I sell him. Int and tw are the two factors that sort of trump the physical skill training to caps.
