Hard to tell exactly when it applies from reading the manual:

Footwork
Footwork is the skill to determine how stable a guy is on his feet. Tackles and Blocks are well supported by footwork.

Does this mean staying on your feet when a defender hits you or staying on your feet when cutting/changing directions etc. or in both situations.

Reading this I would say Dline and maybe LB, OL,TE,FB

Not sure if your interperting what the manual says the same way has i am, the way i see it it says, that the player with high Footwork will be able to endure Tackles making them miss. But for the OL, should help moving side to side, LB to try to fight of the RB cut and fake. The TE move Side side and block and FB both.

Actually, I think all players can use it when the compete on Dancing with the Stars...

I think there is a way to test the importance of footwork... We know for sure, there is a skill/counterskill system working. Footwork is the only skill, which is its own counterskill. When we find an Oliner and a Dliner with same strenght, speed, agility ans matching blocking/tackling... We could let them go against each other and test the effects of different footwork

Just an idea and like most of the time I'm too lazy to find matching players and participate in tests...

You can probably look on the TL for a test RB candidate who has some Footwork and Carrying to start with. Maybe a minimum of 12 in each, and under 22yo so you have some time to train....

By TL i assume you mean Transfer Market, if so im ahead of you. (Its a first i know, and probably last) Lol

Trying to buy this cat and test build him. Lets see if i can buy him first tho.

And i missed it!
