This is not a joke question, this is actually a serious question ....

Would you take a Punter from the Draft ?

The reason that I ask is that there is a very nice Punter in the next Draft.
Normally, I wouldn't take a Punter as currently a good Punter can be almost a "one-skiller" and it's easy to build a one-skiller either in the YA or actually on the Senior Roster.

However, if in the future things change and there are more skills required for a Punter, then it might be a good 'future-proof' move to go for a Punter ? .... plus the fact that this Punter caught my eye and really does look pretty good as far as Punters go.

I still can't help thinking that a Punter is a bit of a waste of a Draft Pick though.

Firstly I wouldn't take a punter by choice. I still have far greater needs at other positions. But A team with a solid defense could benefit greatly from a great punter. I have seen plenty of games that have been slug fest where neither team can move the ball that well(usually due to great Defenses). If you can out punt your opposition by 10yrds each drive....it might just win you that 3-0 game

This leads me to a question, and if this is "high jacking" the thread I could start a new one.

What positions would you rather:

A. Draft

B. Buy on the TM

C. Build through the YA

Thread hijacking ?...Sfniner the Forum Terrorist ...... you'd never catch me hijacking a thread

(A) Draft - Basically a mix of filling the holes in my Roster and trying to quickly take any player off the Board who looks too good to miss.

(B) Buying Draftees on the TM ?
Interesting to note that from the Top 100 Transfers, the top six of those players are 5 LB's and 1 CB ....doesn't necessarily tell the full story,as one or two of those players will be in a YA, but CB's and LB's are obviously a popular choice.

(C) Build through the YA ? .... I try to do a Generic build and leave the esoteric build aspect(s) until the latter stages, then I can attempt to match the players leaving the YA with the gaps in the Senior Roster.

I have a question for the next draft, I know we still have a few weeks until the draft but it is better to draft a 21 yrs old with 3 stars or a 18 yrs old with 2 1/2 stars? Or it doesn't matter?

Also what's the most important positions? QB? LB? OL?

(just my opinion...)
18yo w/ 2.5*. In most cases, *'s are not very important, and there are not many draftees with less than 2.5* usually.

Most important positions?
OFF: RB, OL (season 1 and 2.) add QB around season 3
DEF: DL, Smart MLB
