The Runners have spent 10 seasons overall as a member of the top dogs, putting together a 4 season run from S39-S42. There have been 4 previous meetings between the two sides, The Sailors winning just one in S38. Their most recent meeting was this season, with The Runners running out comfortable 49-23 Winners. The other side of the draw sees two GIANTS do battle. The Glasgow Tigers and Scorchio will take their 83 Rated side into the Mountains of Germany where they will do battle against the Number 1 ranked side in Sea Devils - The Hawks. The Tigers won the NC North at a canter losing just 1 game away at the Fortress that is Constanta Sailors. They were expected winners in the Divisional Round comfortably knocking off the up and coming Svalbard Saints. They are 2 time Elite Members in S52 and S54. The Stone Mountain Hawks have held the Number 1 ranking for sometime now. One of the favorites last season to take the step to Elite they were soundly beaten by the impressive Mystics at the final step. The Hawks have been around since Season 42, yet have 5 seasons at Elite Level on their resume, with a 4 season spell from S46-49. This one looks set to be a titanic struggle. They are absolutely no strangers to each other having faced off 6 times in 4 seasons. This Conference Championship is a repeat of the Season 51 Sea Devils Bowl, which The Hawks won 38:31. More notably The Hawks and Tigers have faced off as recently as this season, with The Tiger inflicting The Hawks only defeat by 23 to 21. Overall the head to head stands at 5-1 Hawks however - with that 23-21 being the first time the Tigers had beaten bellj's side. So who will make it Elite? Most teams recently that have gone up have come straight back down with The Mandolorians and Alpine Ducks monopolizing the Top 2 since Season 50. Next season with the unfortunate Ducks decline the NC East looks more open than it has for some time. Prediction : I cant see past a Runners - Hawks Bowl. Fantastic write-up ! Thank you !!!! I'm having some trouble finding an opponent for a challenge. Many regions are dead and others are just running along. "We have little activity in the forum. It's difficult to organize a team." was the most common answer. There's a slight interest at Galaxy, but there's no one willing to do that with them. No Sea Devil can do that for them, right? In my opinion, they have to do it themselves.
We probably have to accept that there are 7 regions that don't have a Friendly Cup every season and also don't have their own Hall of Fame. I'll keep looking, but the most likely scenario is that we defend our titles against DRAGONS and/or FIRE. If someone has good contacts in another region, like I do with the Dragons, then now is the right time to ask if they dare. |

I look through the other forums and they are dead. Even ours goes quite quiet on occasion. The transfer market hasn't been as busy in my opinion this season either. It is a daunting task setting up and getting to grips with the game at the beginning and we seem to have a very high turnover of new managers. Just crashing in from Monarchs region for a response here.
I don't think the ratio between active members and mostly reading only members and passive members did change much, it's just that the game slowly loses members, now down to less than 220 overall from I think in best day way over 800. You can see on the posters list, that there are maybe 10%-15% really active members, which would be 20-30. Divide that by 9 regions (with Elite as a seperate one) and you get 2-4 active members per region, which is close the number of names you get, when you look into the season threads. Some of those names are more in the mostly reading only area. Long post, short story, you are lucky to have a few more active members than most regions have. That does change from time to time. In Monarchs we had some more, but some did quit, some did switch to other regions. Far future will be, that the regions will be less crowded, it's only a matter of time. |
