I've checked in the Manual, but can't find the answer to this. So apologies if it's a stupid question.
What is meant by "lopsided tactics"? Is it just a huge discrepancy between calling runs and passes on offence? Thanks Hal |

No, rushing out of one formation all game long, as example

How does it detect whether a playbook is lopsided.
Is there a count where if one play is used X amount of times it inflicts a penalty on that exact type of play? |

when you talk about "easy exploits", isn't that a problem of the engine over all, and not of those managers using stuff that might simply work in their opinion? why not just make defenses adapt faster/more effectivly if the offense uses the same formation all game long? IMO this u p d a t e is just complicating things and adding no fun at all.
its pretty much the same with the new STs: Is this really a priority as long as we don't get interior pass rush, run blocking FBs, 3-WR-Formations, passes not going to the middle not being automatically covered by the outside CBs, even in Dime-Formation (the "flying CB" and also the flying DE phenomenon), pass blocking TEs and so on? These STs just add more randomness and compicate stuff, especially for rookies... Last edited on 2013-10-03 14:16:56 by Buddy Ryan |

Though I like the end result of this change, I think the means used to achieve it was too 'short-term bodge'.
I like to used a bit of the random game settings from time to time, mostly later in the game - not to fiddle any system, but because the standard playbooks feel too rigid, and are unpleasantly cumbersome to use. A far better fix would have been to make the playbook page more user friendly, and allow multiple options for each play. Also, the success/fail option is missing - if I set 1st and 10 to I formation run in the 1st quarter, there is no option to change the play based on success or failure.... if I run twice and get stuffed both times, possibly due to the D lining up in 5-3 or 4-4, then logic dictates the 3rd attempt at a 1st and 10 would be a pass from the I to catch the defense out. But if the rushess are producing decent yardage, then you would continue rushing. Just saying ![]() |

You have to put in questions the motives of some of the trusted inner cabal of advisors maybe? Improvements in the passing options and a properly viable blitz defense *should* be the priorities in my opinion.... |

For the priorities...some things are built on top of others...it makes no sense to have a multioption playbook before the inner balance of the engine is not ready for it.

A quick question on this... for example, my playbook might read:
2nd down - 1 yard - Big I - rush 2nd down - 2-3 yards - Big I - pass 2nd down - 7-10 yards - Pro set - pass There is a gap there for 2nd and 4-6, therefore the random match setting gets used. Mainly because I would want it to be unpredictable. Is that now penalised? After all, the playbook is there, and the random setting is not being used as an exploit, more to ensure variety in the play calling? |

No, this is not the goal of this penalty...
