If a team irl ran and passed outside on every play then they'd have maybe 2yds/carry and 25% passing. OLBs/CBs would be there waiting all day after a few plays.

I don't know if thats right, take a look:

imo the problem is, that when you go "all directions" more than 50 % of your passes out of that formations go through the middle. guess an NFL coach would call that excessively risky - or "lopsided" and there are no other settings to reduce the amount of passes that go through the middle, except both (or left and right) flanks.

In the gamesettings I have 'both flanks' but in my playbook a majority of my lines are all directions, so my WR1/WR2 are favoured.

When I had all directions in gamesettings MLBs were picking me off all day... So I had to change something.

Yeah, the whole passing thing needs work. Not even mentioned yet is that we essentially only have short passing as well.

So if you s e l e c t "both flanks" then that's like your WRs running 7-10yd down and outs all day - the CBs would be picking off every one after the first half dozen. Not to mention that irl they'd see tape b4 the game and see that the O always passes outside - it's crazy.

But as mentioned, the other issue is how well the LBs play the pass, especially vs inside WRs or WRs running inside routes. Any formation with 2TEs seems to be OK though since, I believe, the WRs never run inside routes from those and the TEs seem to not get picked off by the LBs as easily. Or maybe I've been lucky so far with that experiment!
