Well, it is that time of the year once again, we are beginning a new season! So far, looks like the Florida Gators will go 15-1 or 16-0 based on early looks at the schedule. Miami Hurricanes look to go 11-5 or 12-4 and win their division. Torchwood Aliens could be a darkhorse team this year, as they have made some drastic changes in the offseason based on all the hires and fires in the past few days, so they could be a contender for their division title. I've been keeping my eye on Torchwood and Harrisburg since last season. They've both made considerable progress, but the Marines, Slugs, and Steelers seem poised to make the jump to 1.1. Only time will tell which team gets over the hump.

yeah, those teams have been making great progress, however, the Marines are going to have to fight from behind now, as my team just hammered them 46-13, so maybe they turn out to be more of a paper tiger? I don't know, but it feels good to blow out a team ranked better than yourself, now I am ranked #1 in my league, and have a fairly easy schedule, should go undefeated from here on out for the rest of the regular season.

Wel, the season is getting ready to wrap up and I am 13-0, and the Marines and Torchwood are ties for their division at 11-2 right now, so they both may make it to the playoffs. Looks like it will be a very interesting playoff season this year!

Here is a playoff update, we still have 3 games left in the season, but early predictions have the following as winners of AC regular season:
Florida Gators AFC Schwaben Chicago Cougars Still not decided between Torchwood and Marines, but I think Torchwood can pull it out Either Torchwood or Marines and the White Reapers will make up the wildcard teams. For the NC, the winners look to be: Silesian Steelers Harrisburg Fire Miami Hurricanes Hamburg Germans Looks like the Sedalia Slugs and Berlin Bears will be the wildcard teams here. I will u p d a t e this once it becomes certain who the winners are, Torchwood and Marines might be a season finale decision, both are excellent teams and should do well in the playoffs. |

I think the Marines will take the title because they have an easier schedule from hereon in. They only have to face one human team whereas I have to face two. Even assuming that we both win all remaining games they will be ahead on points differential.
I wouldn't necessarily mind another season in 2.1 as it would give me another year to flesh out the team. I'm pretty sure we're moving in the right direction but not so sure we can handle the 'big boys' of 1.1 Still time will tell. If we don't make it this season then I feel pretty confident we will do so next time around. |

well I think you can still make it into the wildcard round of the playoffs, they will definitely be interesting this season! I am not participating in the bot flush this season because I know that my team isnt quite ready for 1.1 yet, even though I am 14-0 now, but that is a whole new ball game up there, so I am staying down here for at least one more season to get my team up some more.

Well a narrow loss at Harrisburg tonight guarantees the Marines get the title (they only have two bots to play now). We are still in with a shot at the playoffs at 11-3 along with White Reapers also 11-3 and Sentinels 9-5.
So there are two places with 3 teams in the fight. Interestingly we get to play the Sentinels on the last day of the season. However I think the odds are in favour of White Reapers (they only have two bots to play now) and Torchwood - we have one bot to play and are two games ahead. So even if we lose to the Sentinels we should still go through to the playoffs. Like the Florida Gators I have also opted out of bot flush as I don't think the Aliens are ready yet for 1.1 |

yeah, even with that loss, you can still sneak into the playoffs, and I think you can do well. It is very interesting to see which teams get the wildcard spots, as there are a few different scenarios that could happen, always very interesting when there are three teams fighting over two spots, but I feel like it will be Torchwood coming out with one of the two spots.
Very good season so far, can't wait till the playoffs! |
