I'm pretty sure you will have the minimum roster. Don't worry about it.

Be sure to work on your draft pick order. You are going to get some really good players compared to what you start with.

Hint. You might want to focus on a great looking QB - LB and CB for your new team. 3 key positions.

AND don't hire anymore coaches until you have a good income and assemble a decent team.

1st off: did you switch to HR mode? if not, contracts is done automatically.

2nd: Its way to early to start spending 400k weekly on coaches. BUILD THE STADIUM.

3rd: I disagree with the get a QB in the draft approach. At least wait til the 3rd round.

Use the coming first season to build the stadium and roster and learn the game. That should help in getting competitive faster. Use the NOOb questions thread and get a mentor.

I never said get a QB in the 1st.

He should grab one in the 2nd round if he isn't high in the draft order though. (If there's one worth grabbing).

All this depends on how JWS wants to build his team. If its through the draft + YA, id agree partially (still thinks he should wait till the 3rd round). If he wishes to use the TM a lot, a QB is much cheaper than a MLB/DL/OL.

But he has taken the first step in getting better: Asked for help.

First draft, ALWAYS draft BPA (Best Player Available) each round. You can edit your draft order from round to round if you want to ensure you don't draft three guys at the same position, but your team will be that poor at this stage that it probably won't matter! As was pointed out to me when I started, your draft picks will be your best players by some distance - them and the free agents you buy (later) that were other teams draft picks.

As others have said don't hire coaches until you have maxed out your stadium (144300 seat capacity), because then the money will roll in and you can play the game much better. Takes about a season-plus, but totally worth it.

That

You may also consider selling your first draft pick if he is a monster. You may get 50+ millions for it. That would allow you to finish your stadium super quickly and make a shit ton of money by the end of the season to buy vets and be competitive quickly or/and build a decent YA that will save you 1 season in home grown development.
It is a different approach that gave success to some managers.

unless its a clear cut franchise prospect that is 20, (

WHICH I HAD just now- and my lose-, turns my stomach so i just have to DO SOMETHING ELSE For 3 days til draft day)

I will always build a team , then a quarterback, I can win most games
with superior concepts, and timing,

read the noob section
, my question wasnt covered

I turned to contracts on to DO them,

but it is better to get a clean slate,
and perspective on the quality of prospects
so I know what can be replaced before i let it go
