Sorry for my bad english. I was writing in a hurry and my text was not clear. What I meant is that the kick off time is decided by the home team. Each manager will set his own kick off time for every home game. Just like the SC. I did not meant to change venues or something like that. Sorry!

We would have to delay all the calculations of playoff schedules and league tables to the point where the last of all these games was played. Sorry, but no option. |

1. Yes or No, do you support cutting down the amount of regions being cut down from eight to six, or even fewer and why.
Yes, I support this idea but I do not think it is the right time. Pete has already made a recent restructuration of the league system and we need some more time to see how it works. But as an alternative to the current system I would like to merge some regions in order to have more human vs human competition and I think that 4 regions would be nice. 2. How would you suggest dealing with rivalries and region pride. As I answered in number 1, the rivalries will be maintained by merging regions (2 by 2) and keeping only 4 regions. 3. Would you support an intermediate league in between Div. 1 and Elite to have better overall competition throughout. I did not understood this intermediate league. We will have the same structure after all as we have D1 and D2 leagues. But I am wondering how to make an eventual transition from the actual league system to this new "merged regions" system. By merging 2 regions we will have 64 D1 teams and we must cut it to 32. Maybe a "transition league" will be needed. But this idea is unclear even for me... The greatest problem in merging regions is the kick-off time. Maybe the best option (if it is to merge regions) is merging regions with close kick-off times. For example:
Admirals and Dragons (20:00/21:00) Claymore and Galaxy (18:00/19:00) Sea Devils and Monarchs (16:00/17:00) Fire and Thunder (12:00/15:00) After merging those regions a new kick-off time may be set for those new regions reducing the impact of time change. |

What I mean by the intermediate leagues is not entirely "to improve overall competition". Honestly, I just want to play in a league with 31 other human teams. Right now there are no leagues besides Elite that are full of human teams. That's really all I want, and this new league restructure would do that. You can look back to the post about this if you need to fact check. That's what I want with this.

Okay, so I did a few calculations and this is what I found. We have 321 active managers in RZA. If we go with PJRAVENS' proposal, the league table would look like this: Elite (1 league, 32 teams): full (no surprise there) Intermediate leagues (2 leagues, 64 teams): full Division 1 (4 leagues, 128 teams): full Division 2 (8 leagues, 256 teams): 97 teams (3 leagues full, 1 league with 1 team) Given those calculations, I would support a move like this because the competition would be greater overall. Teams would get better, and this game would be even more fun than it already is. I support this proposal and think it would be to the benefit of the game. No one wants to play in a league full of bots. Neither does it help new players because they do not learn the true strength of their team or how to evaluate opponents properly when playing agaist bots. Right now there is too much of a gap between 1.1 and Elite. I believe rivalry suffers because there are too many promotions to Elite and those relegated go back to a random division. I really enjoy when I get the same opponents season after season. I am not saying cancel the promotion/relegation (although I would not be adverse to that) just make it slower. I know there are some concerns about game times but I don;t see that as entirely problematic. There are some games (outside of RZA) where you don't have choice of times for actions to happen whether it be kick off times or battle times. In the technological age I don't see this as a problem. For example the Supercup leagues are a mixed bag and times are set based upon the competing team criteria. I just watch the game whether Supercup or League 'as live' whenever I want to do so. I don't actually need to be online at the exact time. Even if I do what happens if my partner wants to go for a meal etc? Do I say 'sorry dear I have to watch my football game because it is live now'? Of course not, otherwise I would soon be looking for another partner - and would probably not find one based on the 'I must watch my game live' criteria. |

It's a big no from me... no change to league system needed.. why do some members always want to change something that has worked well from the start..btw I didn't choose my region for the kick off time I just preferred the name Thunder over the others

I think there is (at least from me) a genuine concern about improving the game. True this did work well at the start but the numbers have diminished. I see these suggestions as an attempt to deal with that. If we kick them around a bit and get comments (both for and against) we can see where we are. Of course the ideal would be to get more people playing. As for your reason for choosing your region I think that things like this are more common than imagined. It's not all to do with time. The reason I chose mine is because it is the region of the person who introduced me. I have also introduced two others who have chosen Monarchs because that is where I am. Certainly we have, in Monarchs, people from across the globe. |
