Second comment a smaller bombshell but still in that category:

Lamar Miller torn ACL. Time to jump on the Duke Johnson hype train.

It's always a bad thing when player do rupture their ACL, but seriously, I had to look up that guy. RBs are a lot available, can't see the bombshell here, unless you are a Texans fan and you expected him to start.

But Luck retiring is very tough for the Colts.
Now what? Suck for Lawrence?

Lawrence is 2 years away....so not even that. It'll be a loaded QB class without him anyway, no team should aim to get 1st overall.

The first blow of this season was in May when Doug Baldwin "retired". Andrew luck is also a big loss to the league.

I never hope for injuries, but for my beloved Browns this means they will get a 3th round pick and not a 4th for the Duke. I think he has to play in 10 games. Still miss him though. But with Chubb, Hunt(after game 8) and Hilliard we dont look that bad at RB.

Duke will be good for the Texans. Miller has been little more than a placeholder running back since last year. Duke has a great set of hands and is an excellent receiver. Will be interesting to see how Houston makes use of him. Oh yeah, one of my fantasy leagues, I had Luck and Miller...Now Kirk Cousins and Duke.

As a Raiders fan, they had no choice.

I'm pretty sure they did absolutely everything in their power to accomodate him, went beyond most teams to give him the chance to redeem after each mind-boggling shit he's done, yet he still continued to self-destruct.

I'm kinda certain, that when there'll either be a surefire method to detect CTE in a living person, or the other way around, he'll be diagnosed with a pretty serious one. His behavior seems to be really similar to those diagnosed with severe ones that we know of. We might be looking back and say "it wasn't his fault". He really seemed to be adamant about that helmet thing, which kinda highlights it even further for me: he is concerned because he already has symptoms.

In any way, it's super sad this whole thing ended the way it did. Also really telling that in a summer, 2 teams decided that one of, if not the best receiver in the game, is a bigger distraction than what he can produce on the field. The Steelers ate 21 million in dead cap as well, at least the Raiders could get him off with 0 money lost.
