What happened last year was a total failure of business planning.

I think (or more I hope) that the XFL people did calculate this better and we will at least see a full season.

Hopefully they can carry this for some seasons, since I think there is a market for a competing or better co-existing-league a level below the NFL, but of cause they have to have the stamina and the willing.

I seems last season they thought more like 'We sell Football, we should be mega rich at the end of the season, right?' and did not understand the need of establishing a product and to build up the brand over several seasons.

From my point of view, whoever does launch such a league should have the money to sustanin it for at least 5 years in the pocket. After those 5 years they should look into the numbers and decide what comes next.

I'm wondering whether at some point some of the streaming platforms will invest in such sports events with the international broadcasting in mind.
